Yall are harsh!

I drove 25 miles to work today, did ~15 miles of errands during lunch, and then 25 miles back home this evening.

Now the scarry part...

I'm driving it to Ft Hood tomorrow from San Antonio.

So anyone on the I35 near San Antonio be on the look out for flying dumpsters or burning italian cars.

Maybe you could buy one of these to go with it?

Seriously though, very glad to hear you made it and best of luck to your 148 mile odyssey to Ft. Hood tomorrow.

...or less if a Biturbo odometer is involved.

I think you're setting a new endurance record for a Biturbo, time to send a letter into Maserati, who knows, maybe they'll give you a new one for free

Well on your way to a high mileage badge.

That car looks great and good luck with it.

I know he made it up to San Marcos at least, where we compared the circa-'04 registration stickers on our project cars.

I must be honest, I did change the plugs in San Marcos with the aid of Mr. Vigo.

I am not in Ft Hood with THE Mr. Jonny Pruitt. We are having dinner and the Biturbo is doing well.

So do you like it better than the milano? Im planning to get rid of my milano and buy a mercedes, but I still think having a biturbo someday would be interesting. Im kinda curious to see how this one turns out working being used as an actual car though. lol

Home from Ft Hood.

The Milano was better sorted when I got it. The main issues with the Biturbo right now are a part throttle stumble - basically near atmospheric pressure. High vacuum and boost it is happy. It also needs a metric berkeleyton of bushings.

This car hasn't been on the road sicne '94. Which is both a blessing and a curse. It got a bunch of engine work done a few years ago, but all the bushings are in bad shape. I'll be replacing them as I can.

I traveled 382 miles today & averaged 20.9mpg.

Does the Maser have a vacuum/boost gauge? Part power stumble sounds like vacuum leak, could pressurize the intake tract from turbo to head to see, use 10-15psi, guaranteed you've got some bad leaks...

Yes, she has a gauge.

I replaced all the turbo piping connectors and went through and replaced the vac lines.

I'll see if I can't get the intact tract pressurized.

I am amazed sir, you probably have the most reliable biturbo in existance. kudos

You are getting alot better mpg than I would have expected. I had heard 12-15 from the people who I got my Milano from (that have several dead biturbos).

I was very shocked at the mileage as well, it was almost all highway though. The way back from Ft Hood speeds were 60-65mph. The way up was 70-75.

Weird. The stumble is gone. All I did was remove the vac lines to the pressure pods on the distributor and verified the pods didn't leak and actually functioned.

I'm very pleased. A Biturbo that fixes herself!

Awesome stories ahead with this car, I foresee. Write to Maserati and maybe you can get one of those cool "10,000 mile club" grille ornaments.

I am not surprised the car fixed itself. My saab has fixed several annoying things on it's own as well. I think most cars "know" if they are loved, hated, or just appliances.
