Was the C7 Corvette awesome? In a word: Yes. Will the C8 Corvette be more awesome? That's the question, and hopefully we'll find out tonight when Chevrolet officially unveils the new car at 7:50 p.m. Pacific.
The biggest C8 news we've heard so far is that it will be mid-engined. If you think this move comes without controversy, then we'd like …

Interior
That straight line of... buttons. Yikes.
Whoa, GM!
How do you expect me to 'sell' my wife or girlfriend on this interior???
There goes Date Night!
Won’t hating it. Wait until you see it in person before passing judgment. I bet it will look fine in the flesh, well plastic anyway.
Worst birthday present ever.
The Nurburgring will tell all.

That can't be real
Interior lines kinda remind me of japanese cars from the mid 1980s. Different just to be different. Is not different to be more beauty. Looks like the seats will have some hip bolsters, though.
But who really cares? If you are driving a corvette like it is meant to be driven you are not looking at the interior. Hopefully GRM can get their hands on one for a test drive soon.

The weirder something seems, the higher the potential for it to endure and become iconic. The designers know this, so that's why they go weird. Sometimes you go off the rails, but I bet this becomes a beloved interior over time.
6.2-liter V8 called LT2 mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic...495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.
I do like the Exterior, even if not very Corvettish, but that was true in 1968 as us More Mature may recall. That Vette was Futuristic to nth degree for 'Merican iron (& glas). But interior was recognizable.
So maybe, depending on price, this new C8 may click. Yet I see an interior detail which tells me price will be pumped an extra 20 grand by the marketing guys and bean counters: note the 'silly' red F1 band at the top of the steering wheel. Only ones who will use that are the valets after you drop off your C8 for a 2 or 3 hr dinner. Ha. Don't worry though. A good valet knows how to get around the 'valet mode'.
I really like the outside. More than I thought for red, but that interior just kills me. Not that "broke, fat, 30 something" is their target market, but oof.
Put it in dark metallic blue or BRG and I'll put a poster on my bedroom wall tonight though.

Where is the shifter???
I had the same thought. Maybe the weird leather bound thing between the chrome dealies and the line of buttons?
In reply to stanger_missle :
To the left of that. Basically buttons
Another picture showed the buttons to the left of your circle as the pushbutton shifter controls.
