You can kinda see the white one in the back with the top up.
In Japan, I hear that Shonen Knife is playing the concert.
I've seen them. The played at a small club in Detroit, over a bowling alley...
Car looks decent, yes I see F-Type and BMW here and there. Now wheres the fastback?

A friend just told me this thing ended with the guy, unaware his mic was still on, saying "I drew that out as long as I could."

Am I the only one who sees 2G DSM in the front end?

It did.
This really was the worst reveal i've ever seen. Audio problems the whole time. Over the hill band playing an entire set, that band being Duran Duran not doing the MX-5 any favors of shedding it's secretaries car image. Then this is supposed to be a drivers car right? Lets not reveal one detail about the car other than LED headlights and that it has mirrors.
Seriously WTF Mazda? WTF?
The guy was also talking in pure shiny happy person marketing speak the whole time. This REEKED of marking board of directors 80 year old out of touch man running the show. They didn't even seem excited about their own reveal! It was exceptionally strange.
Way to fail Mazda

I had the same thought, but I'll wait and see how it looks in the flesh ,especially in other colours.

WHOA, they ACTUALLY used Duran Duran? I totally thought that was just a big joke. If you're going to use a bad 80's band, at least use a good bad 80's band like Huey Lewis and the News, or Steve Winwood, or something like that.
The car looks fine. Less weight is cool.

So no turbo info? Alright next order of business we need to come up with a clever nickname for it and the fiat spider that will share the platform.
I like the frs/brz, but even more I like saying Frisbee twins, and I cant fathom how you put mx5 and fiat spider together and make a cool nickname. That needs to happen. Get on it, make it happen.

Car had no turbo badge, the chassis shot that shows the engine has no turbo. It's not going to be turbo.
Also Fiat spider? Every source seems to always say it will be an Alfa?

The Alfa/Mazda tie-up has been changed to Fiat/Mazda

As for the new Meotter: I like it. Now, howzabout that hard-top model, Mazda? And can you get a better band than DURAN-BERKELEYING-DURAN for that reveal, please?

It ends with a question mark not a period. That's just speculation.
Screw it, next time get the Foo Fighters.

The obvious choice would seem to be "Fiata" or "Alfa Romiata"
Looks great, I love the tail lights! Looks like a baby Jaguar.

Fiazda! (Sounds like a special at a mexican restaurant)
yeah, that sucked so hard. David shoulda crashed the stage w/ Lesley, and done a body shot off her while she laid on the hood. THAT would have rocked like the 80's.
good thing the new design is sexy enough to have made up for it!
Want an in-person opinion?
SEXY. It's a really good looking little car. If it looks like anything, it's like a baby Jag. And that's a good thing. It's got curves all over with a simple interior.
And from what I've learned of the chassis, it's going to be fun. The running car is on 195 tires, and the chassis engineer was talking about steering feel and fun at lower speeds instead of ultimate grip.
The announcer said that the inside model had 16" wheels, while the model displayed outside had 17" wheels. GRM, take any outdoor photos aside from the interior?

I've got a couple of dozen shots on the FM Facebook page, including this one of the 17" car.
16's appear to be the ticket.
