I have a Bell SA90 helmet that was the first I purchased. Is there anything I can do with it, other than pitch it? The lining has started disintegrating.

If you see neighborhood kids out on their bikes, ask them if they want a "real race car helmet". (I.e. make your problem someone else's problem)

Or in Dyinto's case: leave it out by the road and a drunk student will surely find something to do with it.
I hang them on the wall in the garage mahal. My Freddie Spender replica Arai I bought in 1987 is hanging up along with the brain bucket (Bell with skull cap exposed brain painted on). I've also kept an old Bell Moto as well.
I've got a bunch of memorabilia and old gear decorating the wall so the helmets add to it.
If you have a friend with chickens who's artsy...I think they probably would make good nest boxes inside a chicken coop.
I have an old one or two on the wall of the barn and the Carolina Wrens like to build nests in them.
I’ve seen people use them as lamp bases, not sure how I feel about that personally given the powerful sweat stench that both my old helmets emit. Mine are in a corner of the basement, where they can’t hurt anyone!
Turn it upside down. Fill with concrete. Insert eye bolt in concrete. Let dry. Attach rope 2 eyebolt. Voi la! Boat anchor.
Last thing I'd want to do it give it away someone could get hurt.
Target practice or sand blaster protection is what i do with mine.
I did this with an old helmet back in the early 90s. I used to ride my motorcycle around wearing it. I got pulled over many times, but cops had a good sense of humor in those days.
Of course we live in tornado alley, so I use them for the family to put on during bad weather. They seem to have fun with it.
I've got an expired helmet I keep on a shelf in my office-- for inspiration or something.
It mostly gets me "I didn't know you rode a motorcycle" comments, but that gives me an opening to bore people with what I've actually used it for.

Or, have you ever wanted to try to do some helmet painting? I used one of my old ones to practice on. Quickly realized that I am not an artist and the only reason it looks easy in videos is that those folks are skilled.
