Not terribly obscure, but terrible: my folks' 80ish Chevy Citation - 5 doors, bench seat, 4 speed.

Oh yeah... a bench seat Fairmont wagon with the inline six.  They probably made like four of those.

The kicker was that it was my girlfriend's mom's car and I was teaching her to drive.  I am tall, my girlfriend was not.  Like, she could stand up under my armpit and hide in my coat.  And she was driving, and I was in the passenger seat, and did I mention that it was a bench seat car?

Did a fly and drive with dad a few years ago and drove home 600 miles in a 1951 Kaiser. Only car I've ever driven with a manual on the column. Other than that, nothing too exotic. A RHD mini, but I've never been to Europe....

I drove flynlow's Suzuki Cappuccino.

I've driven a Lamborghini Espada.

I drove a Meyers Manx a few times.

I thought I had an ace up my sleeve with the Cappuccino I own, but I see that among the GRM crowd it isn't as obscure as it might be!

In any case, having owned and driven two different examples of the EA21R (later) versions is probably pretty obscure. I haven't seen any confirmed production numbers, but most experts state that of the total production run of ~25,000 over the car's entire history, only a small fraction were the lighter, more torquey alloy-block EA21R, and most of them were the earlier EA11R.

Other oddballs include a manual transmission Toyota-4A-GE-powered Geo Prizm GSi sedan. It was owned by a college girlfriend. Had some fun road trips in that car, and some fun lift-throttle oversteer! I always hoped to buy it if she ever wanted to part with it, but sometime after we split up it got hit with her mom driving, and they decided to total it out before I got a crack at the car.

Also a 1957 Lotus Elite. Climax-powered and featherweight, it was an absolute joy to drive. It was pale yellow, and my dad bought it non-running as a project when mom was pregnant with me. He finished the mechanical restoration while I was in college, so I got to drive it after he got it running, which was really awesome. Same color as the one pictured below:

I have a 1906 Ford Model N that I drive several times a year. I also make sure the rising generations drive obscure cars. Here is a family friend driving it with his girlfriend. They smiled for a long time.

My mom had one for years, I wish they never got rid of it

This but go back to 1978 when a contractor bought a late '60's clapped out version to move tools/material around his new 100 home subdivision.  Also I drove it before I had a drivers license.

Drove my  1969 Rover 2000TC around a bit before it wound up as a long term project car.  I think they only sold a couple thousand of them in the States. Almost no one (in the US) knows Rover made cars, so that's pretty obscure.

I had a 2000tc.  It was a delightful car but very undependable.   Had a lot of nice features for it's time.  It was the only car I've every owned with a dididion rear suspension.

I owned a Lancia Beta Scorpion for a short while.  With only 1803 ever imported to the US, I would say it was obscure on these shores.

I also got to drive a Lancia Fulvia Zagato Coupe.  That was a very odd car.

I ran a Peugeot 405 Mi16 as a daily driver for a couple of years around 2010. Probably the most obscure car I've ever owned. Most people (even a lot of my "car guy" buddies) had never heard of it.
