I recently bought this 1991 q45 to flip. It is a rare Q45a which has the active suspension system they offered in the early 90's. Even rarer is the fact that it isn't a beat down POS like most Q45's I encounter. Everything works and it is in astonishing condition. It only has 104,000 miles.

For some reason have this strange desire to enter it in the challenge. I know it is a heavy, wallowing barge but come on a hundred shot and some Hoosiers can over come right....

Here it is in all it's 90's baller glory....

Think of it as a JDM P71.

It has a transverse engine (ie, FWD) so it should be less fun than an American P71 for the $2014 Challenge. If you do use it, make sure you set it up so you will use the Hoosiers for a later date.

Q45's are rear wheel drive, the intake manifold makes it look front wheel drive. 278 hp stock, this one has forged bbs wheels and active suspension.

It's RWD. I test drove a Q45 back to back with a LS400 when they first came out. I was very impressed with the Q45. Thought my GF was gonna buy one.

275hp/296 ft lbs stock so a 200 shot should help

the vh45de is safe up to 500hp on stock internals...

Man, that's the nicest one of those I've ever seen! That would look sick with some fat Hoosiers!

In reply to pimpm3: That's what happens when I assume a car is FWD! So, race it in the challenge, then sell it.

Where the hell was that thing kept? A bubble? Comfy cruiser. Make that suspension stiff and throw the widest meats possible underneath.

Best description of the Q41/45 that I've ever seen.

Sad that the cheap ones get turned into drift cars with the interiors crowbared out and the suspension destroyed.

Drive it like the luxobarge that it is. Also autocross it because DUUUUDE.

why does it appear to have a marine battery switch on the right suspension turret?

I used to own one back in the day. Awesome cars and deceptively quick. The engine was the basis for their indycar program.

I have no idea, maybe to cut all power while stored, I was wondering same thing when I first looked at it.

I saw that too. I figured it was installed either due to a unexpected battery drain or since it may have sat for long periods of time, this was installed to combat expected battery drain.
