It looks like we'll be picking one up with great body and interior for a decent price but with the 944 bent-valve-itis. Since I already have too many swap projects in line here and I'm not sure how desirable an unmolested S2 is should I just try to resell it for profit?

Got pics? That'll make a difference. Non-turbo?

LSx it! Does it have the M030 option and lsd?

Seriously if you are selling i have been looking for just what you are describing for a while as a provect. To replace my 924s.

An unmolested S2 is actually one of the more desirable 944s together with the turbo. They've gone up in value considerably over the last 2-3 years.

More desirable than a regular 944 but less than a 951. The thing about the s2 is that getting any more power out of it is tough and really not cost efective. Where as a 951 350 to 400the hp is easy. Seriously if you sre thinking of selling i am intrested. I have been looking fore one as a project on and off for a while but life aleays seems to get in the eay. Can i call dibs??? Lol

I think we're going to pick it up in the next couple of days, I'll get some picks up as soon as I do. The seller has said that it looks "brand new" inside and out so we'll see.

My personal order of from least to most desirable. Also this does not include the M030 optioned cars or some of the uber rare variants that Porsche made. Also there is debate about early versus late turbo cars as well. Some like the bare bones light weight 86 951's where others want the later models with the bigger breaks. Also I am not sure that the 944s is really more desirable than a regular post 85.5 944. Yes it has a little more power but the 2.7 motor is kind of rare and getting heads for it is getting tough.

Anyway my list from least desirable to most desirable.

924

924s 1987

944 pre 85.5

924s 1988

944 post 85.5

944s

944s2

951

Then there is the 968. This is kind of a s2 with the styling cues of a 928. Some love it others hate it. I prefer the 944s2 but if you want tiptronic you have to go 968.
