Now that the 5 is back to 100% (belts and vc gasket), I had a chance to work on the Javelin again. I haven't driven the poor thing more than around the block since October. The alternator was dead and I was trying to figure out a mild upgrade from the stock 35 amp Motorola, but utilizing the stock brackets.
My dad helped me out and sent me a rebuilt unit that was the 65 amp HD version from a Jeep. It bolted right in and after a good trickle charge on the Optima, I got it to fire right up! I'm still amazed at how well this original 360 runs. Anyway, I took it on a great cruise up the hills and back. Felt great! I have full charge and 14V now, so problem solved.
Now I have to look at the brakes, the autocross messed them up. Adjustments are needed, and possibly a new booster...
