Yesterday when I was about a mile from my office my temperature gauge starting started rising. I cut the engine and coasted as much as I could, porpoises-ing, and made it in w/out overheating.

When I came out after work to see what was wrong, I noticed the WP/Alternator belt was slack. Turns out a bolt for the tensioner sheared.

I needed to get home, so what did I do?

I would jam a wrench behind the ALT to get home then fix it. If I were you I would use a tie down strap
