The Ford Pinto may have an unfortunate legacy, but that doesn't mean it can’t be spiced up with the help of a V8.

Specifically, forum user Shavarsh has removed the stock engine from a blue Pinto—lovingly called “The Bean”—and dropped in a built Ford 302 V8 in its place. It's backed by a Tremec T5 transmission.

We built one of these back in college from nothing but junkyard parts. The weirdest thing was the exhaust. Swapping them side to side so the exhaust went forward then did a 180 on their way to the back. Lots of cutting and welding to get them to fit.
