I have heard of people using X 1/9 rear struts on the front, but what about the rear? Is there anything drop in or easily adaptable that takes a cartridge?

I am planning on cutting and putting struts off something else on mine.

The problem is mine are all rotted out to a point that the mounting ears have cracked, so it isn't as simple as a bit of cutting and welding with a Rabbit strut housing.

Not that they are any easier to find but Fiat Ritmo struts work.

Really you are stuck with what you can find or adapt. You can convert to coil overs, it's been done, but you'll need to be able to fab them up.

Responded in your wanted ad, I'll have some nice low mile KYB GR2s available soon, front (X1/9) and rears. Car arrives next weekend and I already have the new parts ready to go on so it just depends how long it takes me to get around to swapping.
