Edited to make less confusing. And you’re probably right, but I’m having fun as it is with the Daytona. It’s got a bit more power than the dirt bikes I’m used to.

Congrats! That's a heck of a deal!
I was so baffled by the notion of an under-$2k Daytona that I thought you meant you already had a Rocket III... Which was still a weird thing for me to think. I think if I found a Daytona as nice-looking as that under $2k around here my head would probably explode.

It had a rod let go and create a couple extra ventilation holes in the block, so I was able to pick it up for $700. eBay had a $1200 motor with 8000 miles and I was able to sell off a few pieces (stator, clutch, header, etc) from the old motor. So now I’ve got a 18,000mile ‘07 Daytona with an 8,000mile ‘09 motor and it only took me a couple weekends to have it all fixed up. To say I’m happy with how it turned out would be an understatement.

I saw you and the Mrs. on the cover of Cafe Racer with these two bikes. Congratulations. Well deserved.
Sorry but wouldn’t let me add more then one pic without it crashing. Have a few more two wheeled toys but taking to long. Last one is my sons scooter. By far the most fun to watch.
Looks like I didn't post in here.
When I bought it:
A couple of months later. I was out for an after-work ride and tried for an "artsy" picture at dusk:
2015 KTM 350exc, the day I brought it home and the day I completed my 6 Days edition replica transition.

Cool, thanks for sharing. The unfulfilled dreams of my youth came flooding back reading your post...:)
Edit: re: BMX bikes...the F2/F3 is also cool, however.

Thank you. And we have more bikes--just need to find photos. (I guess I could go take fresh photos, but where's the fun in that?)
Here's one more: 1999 DK ProXL--built this one up as a birthday present to myself. It's now running "modern" BMX gearing, but I'll get it back to 44:16.
