Advance Discount

I'm normally not one to post anything canoe-ish, but I thought this would be a good deal for anyone that uses Advance Auto Parts and orders online.

I was looking for a coil for my Jeep last night when they took the Advance site down, leaving only a page to enter your information so they could send you an email when they were back up with a discount. I figured that I was probably going to buy from them anyway, that the minor trouble might be worth a couple of bucks.

The email I got this morning was for $20 off of any order of $50 or more. Nice discount, and I think a lot of us will use it.

Email said: So go ahead, take a spin and save $20 on orders of $50 or more!* Start shopping with code EM5 in your cart, now through April 30.

The asterisk was basically just saying that the offer ends April 30, 2011 before 11:59 PM EST.

Advance has some pretty bodacious sales this way. I can imagine how much the stores love it when you pay on line and pick up in the store. Problem is I hate their web site as much as Sears.

Advance's site is BRUTAL. I have yet to get it to work too.... shame since there's things I could use.

It works for me, but I have a degree in poorly written sites.

Guys at my store don't care. Heck, I pull the parts I need myself about half of the time.

Got a side post battery for $48 once I drag the core back. Can't argue with that for something new.

Yeah the online orders are cake, except when they come in overnight, then its a royal pain, because you can't open without confirming it, and then the customer never comes in until after like 5PM and the opening manager has done head home for the day.

The only thing that pisses me off as management is the stupid flyer they send out. $5 off 20, $10 off 50, $20 off 100. An okay deal, about 20%. However, people will come in to buy something, say "aw shucks, I left that paper at home, can I still get it anyway?"

Nope.

The biggest kicker is when they pay full price, and then come in the next day with the coupon, and expect us to give them the difference? o_O

If you want coupons, I found one... eDead sound deadener, 20% off using the code April45 on their eDead 45 sound deadener

I've used it before, good base for other more expensive sound deadeners.

I actually update my "blog" with advance coupon codes whenever they send them to me. Just click the links on my blog and they are automatically applied.

I'll be checking your block whenever I order from them in the future. I can confirm that the code "BIG30" does work. I managed to get everything I needed for 40% off. I basically got a can of PB Blaster and a set of plug wires for free.
