Another learn me thread, south-west U.S.

No Income tax here in the lone star state but the property tax more than makes up for it. 

Austin is actually really bad for allergies and has a pretty epic cedar season. So I'm not sure it's the best place for respiratory health issues. 

With Texas World closing, We are down to 4 tracks for all of TX. COTA , The 2 motorsports ranches Angleton in the Houston area and Cresson in the Dallas area. And then the private Harris Hill.  It's a good 4 hour haul to either of the MSR sites from Austin/SA

i do my research here about allergies and places to live.  I once had people in Seattle tell me that they have the worst allergies on the planet when in reality their city was routinely ranked 98-100 in the top 100 worst large metros to live with allergies.  It’s interesting data. Austin was 45 this year for fall allergies and 35 last year. You’re right, I’d avoid. 

I will lose my voice once or twice a year from the Allergies.

Another good place to consider if you don't mind a little winter is Pueblo and Colorado Springs. Actually one of the lowest in allergies. The only bad thing is the altitude may get to you. Low cost to live. A lot of government jobs there.

Nice. OKC is number 6. Although thankfully my allergies don't seem to be as bad as when I was younger.

Eagle Canyon is gone?

D'oh. Forgot about Eagle Canyon because it's almost OK and it was closed for a while for resurfacing. That's 5 hours from Austin/6.5 from SA. It is back open now though.
