Attacking one symptom of the problem will not result in meaningfully better results than attacking any other symptom of the problem. Attacking the root causes of the problem is the only way to actually resolve it. Unfortunately, both the leadership and the general public in this country seem entirely unwilling and/or unable put their ideologies on hold for long enough to understand this simple truth... Let alone possessing the intestinal fortitude to take meaningful action on it.
