I'm using the ryobi 18v. Works fine for me.
Our black & decker lasted about a year. Charge would last about 20 minutes or so. I'd consider it $100 down the drain. Inherited an Echo and love it.

Ditto. Battery for the trimmer is twice the capacity of the standard for the other tools. I can saw as long as a I want! :D
My dad also has the ryobi and he likes it he has a ton of xtra batteries, my neighbor has a worx set, I borrowed the hedge trimmer once and was impressed. I have a cheapie corded one for my small lawn and it is a pita as you know lol I too will upgrade when I have some xtra money
Anyone got the makita LXT? It'd be nice to have one cordless tool family. My experience with the drill and driver have been spectacular under pretty heavy use.
My black and decker corded trimmer sucks a big one.
I also have the ryobi 18v. It's fine, batteries are great and it works fine for a city lot. The head is only a 1 string reel, and the line advance can be annoying at times, but it works.
I ripped the rope out of my gas weed Wacker Thursday night. 60 minutes to take it apart and retie it.
Somedays I hate the 2-stroke but it works great for a larger yard.
Best trimmer I've ever had. It's a legitimately serious piece of equipment.
