Betty White :(

Apparently 2021 couldn't let us go without one last kick in the nads.  Betty White has passed.  A cultural icon, she'll be missed.  RIP

Just a couple weeks short of her 100th birthday.    She was a pretty cool lady.

This makes for a very awkward crescendo for DDD. 

Came to share this. So near to her  100th birthday, and on the last day of the year.

Liked her  recently in The Proposal with Sandra Bullock & Ryan Gosling; she had a good run for sure ....

I THINK she was just put on the cover of People mag, too...like, yesterday. For some reason I get it - never paid for it, but it comes here. And I saw it yesterday. Maybe Im off base.

Led a long, good life - thoughts with her friends and family.

This is a classic example of why we should celebrate her life, instead of mourning her passing.  She made it 20 years past an average age, while still retaining her mobility and intelligence from everything I could tell.

Congratulations on a life well lived, Betty.  You rocked.

I heard they were doing a story about her 100th birthday. Feels like they jinxed her.

I too saw her in her 100th birthday ad the other day and thought it might be testing fate...   Still, something to be said to be 99 and living life independently and to the fullest.

That sucks.  GREAT sense of humor.

They just did a tribute to John Madden right before he died also.  I think it was nice he was able to see it before he went.  Seemed like he was a bit unaware of his impact on so many people. 

I am hoping Betty was able to see what they did for her?

I feel like they jinxed her just like they did George Burns.  
 

What an incredible run and what a terrific personality.   

That's a shame, what an icon.  I wonder if she was ill, I hadn't heard anything.

I think this is the same one I watched previously. And if it is, it puts into perspective how old she really was and how new television was when she started out on the tube.

Still funny and sassy right to the end.  I made the comment elsewhere, "I hope she knew how much we all adored her."

Betty loved dogs and donated often to various causes. My wife won a shadow boxed signed collar from her years ago that was a fund raiser for a dog charity.  We still have it, of course.

We went to watch No Way Home last night and one of the AMC previews was for fathom events and apparently they were going to have something on her birthday.  The whole theater let out a sad awww when it came on.

I saw that magazine on a rack at the supermarket, then came home and saw that she died. 

Both terrible news and amazing comedic timing.

Buddy of mine came up with a better take.

He figures that if she had passed away on the first day of 2021, we'd have all said, "Berk it, it's the apocalypse!" And burned everything down.
