Good points raised in this blog post. Stop listening only to the media outlets and friends that feed you the same crap over and over again. Have actual discussions with people, learn something!

Didn't read the link.
Didn't even realize this was something that was still discussed by people as relevant.

^^^someone who doubts that Hawaii is the birthplace of our president
BTW, good point about the "Echo Chamber". The problem exists in Congress, too. In the past, congressmen had friends on the opposite side of the aisle. That's no longer true, and I think the lack of friendship with people who have other beliefs/views is a problem.....it is easier to demonize the opposition if you have no friends among them. That's why the political speech has gotten so vitriolic.
senators no longer have the time, or perhaps the inclination, to get to know one another—least of all, members of the other party. Friendships across party lines are more likely among the few spouses who live in Washington. After Udall joined the Senate, last year, he was invited to dinner by Alexander, because Jill Cooper Udall and Honey Alexander had become friends through a women’s social club. It remains the only time Udall has set foot in the house of a Republican senator. (Vice-President Joe Biden, in his autobiography, recalls that, in the seventies, a bipartisan group of senators and their wives hosted a monthly dinner: “In those days Democrats and Republicans actually enjoyed each other’s company.”)

And yet, still no birth certificate...
The whole argument is asinine and really says a lot about a person that presents it. Beside that fact that is smacks of "I lost fair and square but I don't like how it came out so I need to find a loophole to disqualify it", the very premise that requiring someone to be born in the US to even be considered for presidency is flawed. It may have been relevant in the 1700, but it isn't the 1700's anymore.
Someone that is born in Canada, then moves to the US when they are 6 months old is automatically disqualified from becoming president?
If you don't like where the person comes from, don't vote for them.

Just the political version of people complaining about race cars
"One or two [race car designs] inspired that most unnattractive of human reactions - 'It's going to win - let's get it banned" with instant resort to the relevant small print rather than to the drawing board to compete" - Alan Staniforth, Race and Rally Car Sourcebook

I'm curious... I read Huffington post, FoxNews.com, Cato Institute, CNN.com, and the local paper about once a week each trying to get a balanced view. How many other people read from both sides of the issues regularly?

I am disqualified to be president under this law, but I understand that is the law of the land and as such I have to accept that fact.

Grow up.. or admit you're a racist.

Ok.. Glad you could come to terms with that. But I'm glad you got your spine back. Last time I talked to you, you deleted a whole bunch of comments in an amazing and gratuitous show of cowardice. Good Job!

...or taste.
And, for the record, I'm happy we have a black President. Maybe now some larger portion of the populace will realize how truly irrelevant color is. Bonus points for not having some assclown like Jesse Jackson elected just so that people who think color IS relevant could say we have a black President.
Iggy, you are quickly convincing the few of us who still believe you might be a half way decent guy off of the board that we are wrong.
He's right there has been no legal birth certificate submitted. They've done everything in their power to block it and discredit anyone who asks about it. Why?
Where there's smoke there's fire?
I think it would be funny if someone proved he wasn't legal. What would happen then? Would all the law changes be thrown out? Can you imagine the political carnage this would bring to the whole system?
This would be better than any book I've read or TV show I've seen!

In reply to huge-O-chavez:
You are capable of rational well supported arguments, yet you resort to cheap tactics to piss of and distract everyone involved just to "win". It is tiring watching someone who obviously does pay attention to most of the issues get so wrapped up in winning that they chose to destroy any significance the discussion may have had.

Tell me any other president or candidate in the history of the US who has had this sort of scrutiny? Or has been required to show his Birth Certificate?
Anyone in modern history? Nope..
