Ok, I know Im 7 weeks early, but I had a question on car parts that get discounted during BF (or at least in the past).
So, here's the situation. Ive been saving up for my car to get repainted around Thanksgiving (maybe before and I take it on a trip up to DC after the paintjob, or just after I get back), and that's been where my 'car money' has been building. But we (my coworkers) just learned late last night/today that we're getting a bonus. Apparently the district wants to thank us for dealing with covid and such. In two installments, one is at the end of this month (October), other at end of school year.
Now, before the girlfriend knows how much Im getting (Ive downplayed this by 10X, she thinks it's a couple hundred bucks), I'll be buying an engagement ring, I think. But there will be extra funds...as Ive been setting aside some money for that too, and Im thinking of some Koni struts for the car to improve the ride of the vehicle.
Have yall seen any good deals on Koni stuff in the past BFs from any of the vendors? Should I pull the trigger now or wait?
I might get other things, but I wasnt sure how much/many deals there really are out there. I'd love to redo the suspension with quality pieces.
Koni does not allow their resellers to sell below a certain price. You can bundle the shocks with something else and discount the bundle - basically, the sale is on the other parts - but not on shocks alone. If you do find a killer deal on Konis it's from someone who is going to lose their ability to buy Koni stock soon.
They have a shock sale every year where the prices are dropped (and the cost to vendors is lowered), but it usually runs for several months through the summer and it ended a couple of months ago.
So don't expect much on Koni shocks specifically for Black Friday.
In reply to Keith Tanner :
That used to be known as price fixing and a company I worked for got sued for it.
If you don't sell for the price they want you to sell for, they don't have to do business with you. Go back a century and ask the Supreme Court about it. You can buy a bunch of Konis and dump them on the market if you want, but you won't get any more.

Minimum selling price protects the vendors so they don't end up in a race to the bottom. It's pretty common.
KT - thank you for that information. I hate that I missed the deal, guess here goes 800 bucks at some point soon.
If you're looking for a complete suspension system - say, shocks, struts and sway bars - you may still find a deal. As I said, vendors can discount packages. Just not shocks alone.

Well I will need springs, too. Wasnt considering sways, but I'll wait and see what happens.
Can't help find cheap Konis, but congrats on the planned engagement ring! I have one planned out for Birdlady myself!

Probably another year for us. She and I agree we want to be married and make it official, but the biggest priority for us is continuing and financing the legal battle for full custody of two of my children. Birdlady is a Saint for willingly and knowingly taking on that challenge as my partner.
