I can also recommend Tisas. The hot setup is Wilson combat mags.

Yes, the pun was intentional.
Which forum or group or individual can give me an honest value assessment of a truly weird, 1/1 rifle?
.219 Zipper, Remington rolling block action, left handed stock, scratched up.
I'm assuming $1.50, but is the action valuable? The .219 barrel? I can attach better pics if this stirs any discussion or curiosity. Tell me it's junk. Tell me it's worth a million. I don't know, but care to know, if there's a way to know, you know?

Wow, that is truly an obscure rifle... A sporterized Rolling Block Remington might bring a few hundred dollars in a more accessible caliber, but .219 Zipper? And left handed?? It might actually be worth $400-500 if you can wait a decade to find the right buyer. Of course, in a decade, anyone interested in a .219 Zipper Rolling Block will be too old to shoot one, if they aren't already.
About the only way to know its true value is to put it up on an auction site with no reserve and wait and see what it sells for. Someone might be interested just for the action, but who knows what they'd be willing to pay?

I have a couple Tisas 1911s. They perform much better than they have any right to do at that price point, and I quite like them. Fit and finish has been surprisingly decent on my Tisas 9mm and 10mm 1911s, even as compared to my Colts and Kimbers.
I'm in NY, so 10 rd mag limit and no threaded barrels allowed. The new 9mm Nightstalker single stack could be my huckleberry. I wish it had slide comp instead of a bushing comp though. I also wish the Raider had an optics cut. The other option would be the MAC DS D Comp and get the mags pinned to 10 by my FFL.
Assuming it ever gets here, I have a Mossberg Scout Rifle coming.
I've wanted one for years, I am excite
By the way, dunno if anyone else has commented on this yet, but the CMP is claiming they'll have new production M1 Garands available soon, possibly by the end of the year. I'm told the price will be steep, however, at about $1900.... :(
New? That is interesting. I wonder if the op rod will be modified to use standard 30-06 or if they will have an adjustable gas plug or something.
Now I did it. My daughter and I went to watch a C&R 2 gun competition to see what it was about.
That looked like fun.
New CCW setup I tested at the Outlaw match this month: https://youtu.be/gdjQBqM-w2A
I just picked up a bodyguard 2.0 in 380. I have not shot it yet. The dang thing is so small. I am hoping that in 380 it will be a good shooting pistol. I will report back when I get around to shooting it. S&W has upped there trigger quality over the last couple of years.
Very happy with this, my first Scout Rifle and I like the concept. Cheap scope is cheap and defective, but the sights and general Scoutness are awesome. Bought a 20rd mag on a whim since they had some at the gun shop, and that definitely sucks. Kinda thinking of getting a heavier muzzle break because unloaded I love the feel of muzzle on target, but loaded it loose it's front heaviness.
I wanted a Scout for years and I'm impressed.

My Marlin 30AS lever is my scout. If you want a nice scout scope Burris has a few, also Leupold has one or two. Actually using a Burris handgun scope on the Marlin as the scout scope.
That's an A2 Birdcage flash hider on your Mossberg, if you want actual, real, nice functional muzzle brakes there are several options with different weights depending on model:

Finally shot my 45-70 CVA Scout 2 recently and it was very pleasant to shoot with the APA Gen 3 Little Bastard muzzle brake on it, actually was more comfortable to shoot than a .223 bolt gun with no muzzle device... recoil absorbtion and reduction was awesome with it. Couldn't get it to group with the ammo I tried when trying to zero it, but it shot smooth and soft - Extremely fun to shoot for a 45-70. Need to try some different ammo to see what it likes, didn't like some old offbrand stuff I first tried.

Nice Scout!
I was always a fan of the Scout concept, and bought a Ruger GSR way back when they first came out. It was a 2 MOA gun, and wouldn't feed reliably with any of the mags available at the time, so I ended up selling it. Kind of a disappointment. I later built a scout on a CZ in 7.62x39. It was a good shooter, and ~6.5lbs with a 2-7x scope. Fun rifle.
Ultimately, while the Scout concept made a lot of sense with the modified military bolt guns of the time (when Cooper came up with the idea), with modern mag-fed bolt guns and modern optics they don't excite me as much as they used to. And a big-frame AR does the same job a lot more effectively.
Still like them, though!
I always thought the GRM path to a Scout was one of the Ishapore 2A Enfields chambered in 7.62x51 (308 Win). It had a 10 round detachable magazine and was chambered in the correct cartridge per Cooper's original concept, but it's not a short action. But it is smooth and the one I have is hella accurate with open sights @ 200 yards. My eyeballs aren't nearly good enough anymore. My FR-8 Mauser would be another option but the recoil feels more vicious than the Enfield for some reason...

I've heard good things about those. Small, but they feel really nice in the hand. With how well the shield plus is shooting for me in 9mm though, I haven't seen a real need to drop down to 380. Just personal preference. If the bodyguard2.0's were cheaper I might snag one just because.

Ill have to check the links out, the flashider is kinda useless for me and while the recoil is fine less is even better lol

That's awesome! I've always eyeballed those CZ but I've never been able to play around with one

I had the same thought and bought a bubba-ed Ishapore but it was a bit too warn out.
I really should pull it out and see if it's doable. Had massive feeding problems but I wonder if I can fix it....
