So, I picked up the Live Free Armory Apollo11 compact. I was going to order the MAC DS-D Comp buuuuuuut I got the Apollo for around $735 shipped brand new vs their current $999 price. I figured it was worth trying it out at that price.

Oh yeah, Enfields are crazy. I'm glad I got mine years ago

I've been wanting one of the Gibbs sporterized 45-70s Enfields for a while. 2 popped up and the cheapest sold for just over $700. $950 for the other. The thrill of these was they were cheap ffs

I may never get one at that price

Here

It's priced at $979 but when you add it to your cart they take another $200+ off making it $773. I stacked a coupon code I had with them on top of the $773 which took enough off to make it even cheaper. The gun also arrived 3 days after I ordered it.

There are other guns on the site that has automatic discounts once you add it to the cart.

From a quick search, it looks like PPU is the only source of commercial ammo.  I definitely wouldn't buy one to shoot, and it's post WWII, so I'm not sure how collectible they are.

Closed auctions with bids range from $671-$1200 on GB.

French military rifle, most in good shape. They used to be laughingly marked as " never fired, dropped once" because they were in such good shape.

Personally I wouldn't buy it for that, hell that decent CMP Garand money iirc. The 7.5 French round is ok but getting some is hard. They used to have 308 conversions around but I haven't seen one in awhile.

Like the k31 it has a very short LOP so I found it uncomfortable. If you want to shoot it, I'd pass. If for whatever reason you want French surplus guns for a collection I could see it.

Also the last one I passed on was $200 so kinda stunned by these prices.

Considering a fun AR upper in something other than 5.56 and was kinda thinking something 30 caliber and up.

Not huge on 7.62x39, kinda want a 458 Socom or 50 Beowulf but the ammo prices suck and I don't really want to go into full reloading mode because my current schedule has free time all used up by "sleeping" and maybe some guitar playing

So, thinking of the 350 Legend. Anyone played around with them?

300Blackout...can shoot both supers and subs for not too much more than 5.56. If not wanting to go NFA get a pin&welded 13.9" or 14.5" barrel with muzzle device of choice. If going NFA, 10" to 12.5" is the sweet spot.

220gr subsonics are rediculously fun to shoot suppressed... stupid quiet.

If I build another AR it will probably be 6 ARC, but I already have a Blackout.  As Vracer111 posted, Blackouts are fun, but I would pass if it won't be short barreled and suppressed.

I have also been looking at 6 ARC build.  It looks to be a fantastic option. Kind of taking many of the best parts of the AR10 and AR15 platforms and combining them.  It really seems like a great do it all option.

Can confirm. It's "Hollywood quiet". Even in an auto-loader.

I have no doubt, one of the reasons I wanna try a Beowulf is because of 700gr subsonic stuff. That sounds very fun.

I considered 300 blackout first but the 350 is a bit more powerful. If I don't necessarily have a task for a gun, and admittedly I'm weird about a gun having a purpose if I own it, I default to " can I shoot a black bear with it if need be?" Since wildlife is my main concern. 350 is fine there but I'm not so sure about 300blackout.

Ill do some more research though, the 350 is kind of limited with cool ammo options that I see so it might be a bit "boring".

Just an FYI.

I found out that Glock is discontinuing a large number of the pistols.  If one of these has been on your list to get you should act now as they are going to be harder to get as time goes on.  I had been wanting a 34 for a while but was putting it off.

I'm about 500 rounds in with 115gr and 124gr Federal American Eagle ammo.

First 50 or so rounds had two issues. Failure to battery (my little cousin was shooting it and he was limp wristing it), I couldn't replicate the issue and when I corrected him it stopped happening. Secondly, failure to feed the last round in the magazine. The FTF happened two or three times. All of these issues happened in the first 50 or so rounds. After that it shot better and better. Now it's time to get an optic and find some more mags, the stock mags are sold out. I read that 17 and 20+ round Prodigy, Atlas, and Staccato mags works best with these.

I'm trying my best to not go down the 1911 rabbit hole. But, they have a sale on Tisas/MACs lol

I have a couple Tisas 1911s. They perform much better than they have any right to do at that price point, and I quite like them. Fit and finish has been surprisingly decent on my Tisas 9mm and 10mm 1911s, even as compared to my Colts and Kimbers.

I'm also a big Tisas fan.  As Brandon said, they're far better than the price point would suggest, and IMHO they're the best value on the market for a 1911.  I'm a big 1911 fan, and have been shooting them since the early 1980s...  I own Colt, Ruger, Kimber, Springfield and Tisas 1911s.  The Tisas fit/finish is as good as any 1911 I've owned or seen, short of $2k+ custom guns.  All of my Tisas 1911s have been great shooters, even the most basic $299 1911A1...
