Has anyone found the story behind this yet?  When I first opened that page I assumed it was going to be one of those big rig tractor pulls where you occasionally see the engine explode out of the truck, but the engine is basically intact, then I realized it was a freeway median with cars still traveling past, so not a tractor pull or drag strip.

Edit: Holy run on sentence Batman!!  I hit edit to fix it, but it's screw it, laugh at me folk!

The part that I don't get is that the engine is ahead of the frame, which is ahead of the cab.

And there are no axles on the frame, and are nowhere to be seen.

I cannot imagine a scenario where the cab gets scraped off the frame, and the engine keeps going, and the axles disappearing.

There is ONE possible thing... if the tractor jumped the grass hill next to a bridge at high speed.

Another possibility is that it is a truck heading for Mexico on the trailer of another truck. There is a certain amount of disassembly necessary before it is considered "tax free" for export so you'll see them disassembled often.

Of course, the Exxon Valdez at the beginning of the accident scene say that that is not the case

Now right there is a damn good argument to do away with aero grip and return to skinny crossplies.
