Nice artwork. However, every time I have been to Laguna Seca, it ran the other way. (counter-clockwise)
You were probably there when there were other people around. That's a legit photo from Sam Smith's excellent Singer test. If you're showing off a half-million-dollar 911, you can probably arrange to run through the Andretti Hairpin backwards for dorifto shots.

I found some more info:
The car was originally rallycrossed by Dimi Mavropolous in the late 70s. It subsequently came into the ownership of Terry Maynard and has been rallied by him since 1980.
Its actually a Europa chassis, with a rover V8 and a silhouette body of the Esprit. The car uses a Hewland DG300 gearbox from an Indy car and it was built like this from new.
Terry restored the Lotus Esprit for 2009 to be used at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2009 in the forest stage, Dimi drove this car for several years in 70-80s and Terry won 4 years of BRDA championships in the esprit the last being in 1989,
Manfred Parisch and Herbert Breiteneder also campaigned Esprits in Rallycross in 1984.
WTF, look at the front wheels. Anyone know about Europa chassis front suspension geometry? Yes, it looks like an Esprit, but read the post above, it's got a Europa chassis.
OK, here's a vid, I'll post it in the Hotlink vid thread too. Will one of you mad bastards please build a replica of this for rallycross overe here.
