So what does the transmission and axle look like on a pusher diesel RV? I dont suppose it looks like an ACVW or my Renault transaxle?

Normally they look like a regular driveline but reversed unless it's a V-Drive which was mostly used in GM Buses.

I actually googled it and it would do 17 knots with a Diesel engine.  But I liked your comment better.
