I have them on the brain. I recently made a grievous error and failed to buy a Wolseley Hornet, and it's bugging me. No pun intended. Searching for that image, I discovered the prior Wolseley Hornet was also a handsome car.

I'd guess that was one of the ones that I flew. There were 4 of them flying in the US years ago, all in those colors. Three were on the Eastern seaboard and one was on the West Coast IIRC. They flew at smaller airshows because the "box" of airspace at regional airports was too small for military jets, but they could perform inside. It made them the star of the show wherever they went. I was making a promotional video for them and had a lot of time in the front seat. They let me take the stick a few times and man, what a thrill! The pilot was all like "the controls for the airbrakes are on the left there..." and I'm all like "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?"

I've been watching a lot of docs on 1950s strategic bombers on teh youtubes lately. The last 2 nights were about the tu95.
This train of thought started with the documentary "Last Flight of the Vulcan" which is currently on Netflix.
