So cooler weather is coming with fall so our visitor Winston is going home until the spring. Winston is a desert tortoise. He's 13 years old, and was rescued from somewhere in Detroit a few years ago and now lives, free range, at the local pet store where both our daughters work / have worked in high school and college. Despite having free range he gets board in the pet shop and really needs sunlight to be healthy, especially for his shell. As our yard hasn't had any chemicals on it for 30 years now and is fenced in it's a nice safe environment and he loves it.
So bye bye Winnie, see you in the spring.
Here he is trying to steal my lump hammer.
Testing his boundries, he later broke through!
Yes, that is a supercharged Ford 427 Cammer laid over at a 40 degree angle to put the passenger side head under the frame rail and make it all fit under a stock '26 Ford T hood

None of these photos are showing up for me
I was thrilled when I found out that Arizona has a program to give away tortoises that can't be returned to the wild. You have to have proof of a suitable habitat (okay) and a clear line of succession because it will in all probability outlive you and possibly your children (okay) and you must be a resident of Arizona (oh.)
In reply to Pete. (l33t FS) :
So much win. I remember reading there was a Boss 429 intake that Ford made that was a cross-ram with twin Autolites inlines.
I can only find the Cross-Boss for the Boss 302
The Autolites could be set up for independent runner or to run on a plenum.
Chevy had... Quadrajets. Maybe a Holley 4150 (a carb Holley designed for a Ford)

Hmmm, slammed step vans must be a new thing. I've noticed this one driving around town since last spring:

Steering angle. One is not like the other.

But not a tire, definitely not missing a tire
