I actually built a 17' fiberglass one years ago. I think I have replaced the gunnels (wood rots) two times. I use it for fishing a couple times a year. I picked up a aluminum v hull rowboat that I much prefer due to it being more stable but the canoe I can toss on the truck by my self and head out for an afternoon much easier.
