As a relative newcomer to The NEPA (That's what us cool kids call Northeast Pennsylvania, you have to add the "The") who travels a lot I have not really learned the lay of the land yet.
Is there any place that stocks SA rated helmets? We have a new driver joining the Chump team and she needs gear. The helmet is first since my wife is taking her on a track day in a couple weeks. She should be a small but ideally she could try on a few manufacturers. A medium Bell M4 fits a little loose and that's all we have to go on. Is there a Jegs hidden behind the Railroaders stadium I don't know about?
Where is the best place to get metal (the welding kind, not the headbanging kind)? Ideally a place that's open on Saturday. I want to rebuild the seat mount and I need supplies.

Driving Impressions in Dover , NJ for the helmet. Tractor Supply for the metal.
Hey that's me! Unfortunately I am no help with either question. But welcome.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.
You called Wilkes-Barre Scranton a metropolitan area, that's a good one.
That's the heart of Pennsyl-tucky.
Hmm, there should be a circle track supply shop in the area.
Edit: for the record, I spend a lot of time in that area because my BIL and his SWMBO live there. It's actually moved quite a bit in direction of becoming a "metropolitan area" since we first started visiting in the late nineties, but it's not there yet.
I feel that once, when I was out of town, they unanimously decided that the 21st century was never to be allowed into this region.
Huck would know the closest racegear place I bet.
Arai helmets has a distribution warehouse up there. I think it's in Scranton. Give them a call and talk to the manager.
I got mine back in '07. Will be replacing it with another G5W next season.
If you want a little more budget oriented Bell or G-Force, I'm in SEPA (which isn't what anyone calls it). I don't have them on the shelf in the shop, but I'm sure I could round up a couple customers with different size noggins and have them bring their helmets in for her to try.
Metal: Nivert in Throop/Dunmore is awesome. I've bought about 20 roll cages and a giant deck worth of railing material from them. Saturday hours, unknown but the drive thru is the tits. Bring a flat bed.
Helmets: No. Haha. No. Do you know where you are?

It looks like I will be driving close to Dover this week. I will have to check them out. They look promising.

Compared to my time in Wirt County West Virginia it is!

Be a trendsetter. SEPA for life!

In reply to logdog:
I'm in Downingtown. A little over an hour from Bensalem.
I swung by Driving Impressions in Dover NJ on my way to Connecticut today. It was a really nice place and the owner was super helpful. I bought some gloves and shoes and will try and get the new driver down there to get outfitted soon.
