I hate to say it as well, that's not really the "tone" of this forum.

And I like it that way.

I've seen threats like that all the time in magazines. Do people actually do that? The next issue will be different, just wait.

Nearly every '30s Ford Hot Rod I see has a 350 Chevy in it. So putting a Chevy motor into a Ford seems like a very common thing to do. Historically speaking, this is nothing new.

I think the really important topic at hand here is whether the Mustang now self-identifies as a Chevrolet, and which service station it should be allowed to use.

Jerry, the tone of this is a bit aggressive. Can we not just all get along? If someone else wants to cancel their subscription over an engine swap, so be it.

That didn't take long.

Didn't mean to be aggressive, just thought it was a rather silly reason to quit an awesome magazine over one silly article. If there were emoticons of smiley faces laughing, I would have just posted a dozen of those.

I'm just saying, who will explain this to all the poor Sonics and Cruzes when they go to get an oil change and there's a Mustang in there?

Tangent:

Ignore posts or articles which end with a "?" Tabloids use it to avoid "saying" anything they can get sued for. Saying "Trump is a jerk" can get them in hot water but "Is Trump a jerk?" doesn't - of course it also makes them appear they don't know themselves, which says a lot, but I digress.

Getting back to the original question, perhaps someone did do that. Perhaps five other people saw the cover and bought a subscription because they were intrigued by the article. Basing editorial coverage on the whims of any particular subscribers is an unhittable moving target. As long as GRM finds interesting stuff to write about, I'll keep reading.

Do we really need any threads or do we just want threads?

Perhaps just a move to the off-topic forum would free us to belittle Ford purists with their undies in a wad over putting a proper motor into an otherwise decent car?

Someone probably gets unreasonably offended at every article for some reason and unsubscribes. Bravenrace unsubscribed when GRM added a hybrid to their fleet. I'm sure JG's poop article caused someone to unsubscribe, but I thought it was hilarious

Peter Brock's personal Cobra Daytona has an LS motor in it. Take that, Shelby purists!

The issue that had my 2004 Challenge car as a feature article also had scantily clad women in a junk yard on the cover. I seem to remember it being a flash point.

I think that was about when I joined, give or take an issue. Hm, I just renewed for 2 more years, bring on the LSeverything and more scantily clad women!

What i find funniest when this stuff happens is how it never matches up too the hatemail and cancellations another magazine received for featuring a 68 camaro with a 302ford swap.

Im anti gm but still read magazines so i see my fair share of them, i just figure i dont own the car so why care. People who get mad over magazine cars make me chuckle.
