Had a family member ask me for advice on getting a new car. She said she was looking for a small CUV/SUV/Wagon. I pointed her to the Kia Soul and she seemed interested in it after providing links to various reviews. Instead she bought a Nissan Versa. In gray. I asked why she bought one of the worst rental cars in recent memory. She didn't get it.

Agree so hard. I hate giving car advice because all people want is an appliance, and no matter what, the first thing that goes wrong will be your fault.

Also, when someone tells me her 4-cyl Camry "scoots," I know that we're not really looking for the same things in a car, and my advice won't be useful.
