Sorry, America. I told the guy at Schnucks to spell it A-M-E-R-I-C-A, but he spelled it S-T-U-A-R-T. Simple mistake. Anyone could make it. The cake will taste the same when you eat it and we'll eat the name first. It'll be like the mistake was never made.

Today is the day America declared it's indepdence.

America's true Independence day was October 19th, 1781, when Lord Cornwallis surrendered to Washington at Yorktown.

(The reason I know this is it was my Dad's birthday and the day before my son't birth)

I'm betting most here haven't actually read the Declaration of Independence and if you did it was a quick scan to quickly get through it cause it's written funny instead of really trying to understand it.

I know I didn't actually read and try to understand it till much later in life.

It's an eye opening document.

Make that your 4th of July project this year. Read it and try to understand it.

I read it every year and even have a copy on my Droid. You are right though most never read it or understand it.
