I lay some of the blame on the corruption of what used to be good investigative journalism. Remember in the 80s when the GM pick up trucks wouldn't actually explode for the TV crew? No problem. Lets just put a rocket motor in there to ignite it. No one will know.
Or the SNAFUs that ended Dan Rather's and Brian William's careers. BTW I just happened to catch an SNL rerun the other night that Brian Williams had hosted. It was strangely prophetic.
So with that....Who are some of your guys favorites? I seem to just find the garbage evidently. 
I'd love to hear some of the good ones and support them.

For tech/video games/science, I like Ars Technica. Probably my favorite online news source.

Well, I for one am still subscribing to my local newspaper here in Minneapolis. They do have some talented writers and I still enjoy having the paper in my hands, rather than looking at a website.
They could use some help on automotive writing, though - about all they have are reruns of old Click and Clacks on Saturdays. Maybe you could get them to run your columns. 
I think the internet has killed copy editors....
