Hey, any of you film guys want some stuff?

I have a huge amount of expired film (mostly B&W, some BW-C41, and a few color C41, all in rolls) from late night Ebay browsing, and also a Minolta XG-M camera with a few lenses (functional, as far as I know). If you're willing to pay shipping, I'd be happy to give it to someone who'll use it. I figure all of it would fit in a couple of USPS medium flat rate boxes.

First come first serve?

I'm in for film. Can you PM me with what you've got? I'm happy to split it up with others who want some - no need to be greedy.

Sure, I'll have to wait until I'm home though (later this afternoon).

I want in on this.  Primarily interested in B&W non-C-41 film.

OK, I'm going to post it here since there are a couple people interested.

~25 rolls of C41 BW (note: I'm fine with keeping this, I'd be more likely to use it)

10 rolls Ilford FP4 Plus 125

2 rolls Ilford SFX200

3 rolls Lomography Earl Gray 100

3 rolls Fuji Neopan SS 100

3 rolls Fuji Neopan Acros 100

5 rolls Fuji Neopan Professional 400

5 rolls Kodak 400TX

Just wanted to note again that this is all expired and hasn't been refrigerated.

Interested in the 400TX and possibly the FP4.

Super interested in the Fuji SS 100.  Don't want to get greedy, will see what else moves.  Lot of cool film there.

If nobody else is interested in the Earl Gray, I'd like to give it a shot. Also interested in the Minolta, as one of the ReconKids is making noises about shooting film.

Send me a PM if you would, Mr Slowride.

I'll be more than happy to take as much of the TriX and Neopan 400 as you're willing to send me.

OK, going to start sending PMs. BoxheadTim and 02Pilot, how do you want to split the Tri-X?

That's great news, right there.

I'm okay with the FP4, if you've got some to spare.

I think all the non c-41 B&W has been claimed.

Since we're talking about film photography in a car forum, I figure someone might be interested in seeing some car photos done on film. This is a series I shot at Lime Rock when Bugatti was the featured marque at the Vintage Festival a couple years back. Everything was shot on HP5+ (developed in Caffenol) or Ektar.

What drove you to play with Caffenol?

Great shots, and motivating to see such good work.

Thanks. I started with Caffenol because I'm on a septic and I didn't want to be dumping unknown chemicals into it. I've been using it for a long time and have learned how to be consistent with it. It's slow, but it works.

When I first learned about Caffenol I developed some prints with it.  It's pretty cool, but I'm not sure I'd trust a roll of film to it.  Awesome that you've gotten comfortable with it and you can't argue with the results.

I've yet to jump into the world of darkroom shenanigans, but I'll get there eventually. Looking forward to a decent day off. I've got two 120 rolls of FP5+ and a Flexaret TLR calling my name...

In reply to Recon1342 :

Whenever you decide to start I suspect you'll become addicted quickly. The magic of opening the tank and seeing the film come out with your images on it never gets old. Except when you screw up, but that is pretty avoidable once you get your routine down.

I hope you get some good results out of the Flexaret.

Since we were talking about Bugattis on film- here is a photograph by Martin Munkácsi titled "Bugatti in the Dirt", taken in 1934.

Slowride's box o' film showed up today (thanks!). Conveniently, I just finished up two previously loaded rolls, so I'm down to one loaded camera competing for attention, which means it's likely I'll get out with some of this film soon. Probably prudent to do a quick test with a couple frames of each type just to check results since age and storage are unknown, but I'm guessing it will be totally fine based on past experiences with expired B&W.

I received the rolls I asked for.  Thanks!  Not sure when I'll get to shoot the stuff and develop it, hopefully soon-ish.
