This ought to keep a lot of you occupied for quite some time.
Some of them are so simple you have to wonder why you didn't think of them before.

My father used to make custom tools all the time. Unfortunately, he died almost 15 years ago, and having inherited his toolbox, I have no idea what most of them do. Of course, some are probably pretty specific, like a clutch line-up tool for a '76 Maserati, or some such.

I want to have sex with that. Brilliant.
In reply to Cuda:
There are some really cool gems hidden between the many things on that site that look like death and dismemberment are their primary function.

I made one of those a few years back, got the idea from an Eastwood ad. Warning: I tried using cheapie Vise Grips and the jaws will 'wobble' unless you take steps to tighten them up, on mine I used a hammer (duh ) and put it on the 'anvil' section of my vise, whacked it till it was tight and then welded the jaw to the handle section.

I'd want something a bit more substantial than the jacks at the corners, it looks like they could bend sideways fairly easily. But that could easily be done with removeable tubes that triangulated them.
I couldn't find a damn spanner wrench awhile back, so I made one out of a random piece of 1/4" plate steel I had lying around.......it was crude as hell considering I only used a drill press and a hacksaw, but it worked.......almost too well.
Reminds me of the Hamer car lift
Hi Guys,
Ken from HomemadeTools.net here. We appreciate the creativity and ingenious solutions found everywhere builders of homemade tools congregate.
Nice custom spanner. Sometimes the simplest solutions are exactly what's needed.

Thanks for dropping in! Your ears must have been burning (or your Google Alerts, either way).
You know there is a HUGE thread on the HAMB about homemade tools. It is epic.
