I uploaded a drone video to the toobs of u, it is a "private" video which I shared with 2 family members, who have NOT yet clicked the link to view. When I look at my toob channel it shows my video has been viewed in Virginia and Washington D.C.!
Maybe it was the title of my video from over a rail spur in the Plot section of Scranton in which I captured Fire Department apparatus and personnel extinguishing a smoldering wood chip pile: "Firefighting in the Plot".
While I accept that nothing on the internet is really private and I now understand that "firefight" and "plot" could raise algorithmic eyebrows, I can't understand why my u toob dashboard would actually show me that these videos have been viewed.
Did the NSA or DHS hit the like button or subscribe?
I always feel like - somebody's watchin' meeeeeeeeeee!
that's cuz they are
We are not watching you. This wasn't typed on a government system. There is nothing to see here. Move along.
Why are you still on here? I said MOVE ALONG

Every computer I use needed updates today, except my ipad which has never been hooked up to el googles. My phone turned itself off and spent 45 minutes updating once I turned it back on. So I think they've subscribed, but don't like me.
In many ways I'm a lot like Not Sure, the hero of Idiocracy: I'm not that interesting. Or smart. Or inventive/dangerous/revolutionary. (also not: funny, handsome, talented, wealthy, etc.....)

You should start click baiting them with tons of boring private videos that have algorithmically hot titles.
I'm sure there about what all is in the service agreement of who gets to view your videos to be sure you're not doing anything illegal.
As for your family not seeing them. Are you actually able to share "private" videos? Most of my videos I have marked as "unlisted" so I can share them with friends but they won't appear on searches.
Similar but different, but still similar. We started talking about buying a house and the next day I had a sponsored instagram post from realtor.com. We had a conversation on renting and the same day I had a rent.com one. Both times I never did any browsing about either subject, just talking in the same room as my phone.

When you select private, you can send a link to the other party via email. That person CAN share link.
None of us are naive enough to think YouTube doesn't "share" with O'Brien. Just would never guess that their tool would leave a mark, seems like if I WAS a bad guy (on phone or would hotlink first jail scene from Stir Crazy) I'd either be forced to initiate my nefarious scheme or go underground if I felt surveiled.
BTW, anyone know how to disable the mic on the Casters of Com's voice remote?
In reply to etifosi:
Hammer. or open it up and snip the wire. Or swap boxes at the store.

They claim:
When is the microphone on?
The microphone is only on while you are pressing and holding the Microphone (Mic) button on your remote. A flashing light on your remote and a microphone symbol on the TV connected to your X1 TV box let you know that the microphone is on and listening for your voice commands.
I think if it was on full time, the batteries wouldn't last over a week.

This E36 M3 happens to me multiple times per week. I can say something completely random, and next time I'm on my pc or mac I'll have banner ads for whatever the subject was.

Google does listen to your Android phone, at least if you have voice commands enabled. And yeah, they do speech to text and they do target ads.
check your Google history sometime.

Interesting, very revealing. The view counter going up says that Google's doing a good job, because they'd grab it mid-stream or out the backdoor from the server side if they could.
Congratulations, you've made yourself "interesting" I'm pretty sure I've managed to avoid making my real identity "interesting." I guess I'll get confirmation if I come to the Challenge this year...
