Helping a buddy put his '92 Camaro back together, he found a used 383 short block to replace his 350 that suddenly lost oil pressure. He's trying to figure out what the cam that was in it is. While we're at it we don't know what the random cam that was in the 350 is either.

Numbers I found on the end of the cams are "115888 371935" from the 1st cam and "115898 250238" on the 2nd.

Going to keep searching myself but I have no real clue where I need to be looking.

Initial Google suggests it might be an Edelbrock cam, but I can't confirm.

The 115888 looks an awful lot like Wolverine Blue Racer part numbers (based again on Google), but I can't confirm with a PDF catalog or anything. Crane bought Wolverine in '94, apparently. Some say the 115888 is Crane's "cam core" number, so the 371935 must be the grind.

Measuring lift is easy with a vernier caliper (lobe height minus base circle X 1.5) then you can cross reference the lift against the part numbers you have if you can find anything. For a small block Chev knowing the lift it will be easy to ballpark the duration with a reasonably late model (80's or newer) cam.

Thanks, I'll have him measure.

He thinks the cam he had in his 350 was an old Holley Systemax piece. Leftover pulled from his dad's stash. I know even less than he does about where it came from.

Oh I typed in just one of these numbers by itself and the top result was granny porn. Neither of us understood how this was going to make the race car faster.

Based on just a part number? No berking clue. Also was on my phone too which confuses me even further.
