My grandpa always said that he was queer** for cars and shoes. Last night, I cleaned my room and realized that I am unequivocally his grandson.
Aside from the obvious overabundance of car magazines, match box cars, pine-wood derby building supplies, and Flyin' Miata catalogs, I had 16 pairs of shoes taking up space in my room. I think that I have more shoes than my fiance In all fairness, at least 6 of those shoes used to be Grandpa's. But still, 16 pairs! And I think I have some more at my parents house. But I do get a lot of wear out of all of them at least.
Anybody else have slightly wierd stuff that they end up with too much of? I've also got my issue with buying guitars, but I can spin that as an investment
**Queer in the definition that would have been used in the 50's, not a homosexual slur.
I have about 10 pair myself.. it's scary how they multiply
I'm pretty sure i have more shoes than that.
I also have too many F2Ts.

I have a long line of shoes waiting to become lawn mowing shoes.
I might have a pair or twelve floating around.
Shoe rotation reduces perma-stink in shoes.

Hmm. I've got my boots, my dress shoes, my shiny dress shoes that I can wear with my tux, a pair of gym shoes, and then a pile of 2 or 3 pairs of old gym shoes for cutting grass in, and a couple pair of boots in a pile for garage-type work. So, technically about 9 pair? But I'd really only count one pair each for grass cutting and garage foot wear.

I just got rid of 15 pairs. I probably still have 20-25. I tend to buy in bulk.

I definitely have more shoes than I wear and need to toss a good half-dozen or so. Maybe I'll do that tonight. I have at least 2 pairs I haven't even worn yet.
I have 4 pairs. Tactical boots, tennis shoes, toe shoes, and dress shoes.

Just counted it up: 7 Dress shoes, 5 Casual dress shoes, 1 Boat shoe, 2 pairs work boots (one nice, the other worn out), 1 dress/casual boot, 4 gym shoes (2 of which are lawn status), 1 golf shoe, and 3 pairs of sandals/flip flops/crocs. 24 pairs.

Three for me.
Steel toe boots, tennis shoes, and dress shoes. Normally I am without shoes even in the garage.
I've got four Costco apple boxes full.
In my defense, I have clown feet and always buy on sale, and have lots of 'specialty' shoes...
But yeah, little bit of a problem.
(Dress shoes, cowboy boots, 4 pairs of running shoes, three pairs of cycling shoes, half dozen pairs of skate shoes, two pairs of chucks, three pairs rugby boots, aaaaaand my rock climbing shoes. and maybe three or four others that I'm blanking on meow)
Not counting flim-flams or other sandals.
I've cut myself off from further shoe expenditures for a while.
Old runners, newer runners, leather shoes, boots and slippers
5 pairs
Couple pair of boots, couple pair of dress shoes, couple pair of running shoes, and a pair of hiking shoes. I wear sandals 80% of the time I'm not at work though. Say what you will about them but its cooler when its 110℉ and wayyy less foot funk.
I have four pairs. Two work boots, a pair of dress shoes and a pair of sneakers. As for things I horde, I have more model cars and trucks than I will ever build and die cast trucks everywhere.

This is part of the reason I have so many shoes. Manufactures tend to discontinue shoes. If I find a pair that fits particularly well, I will buy 3-4 pair of them. I usually have several unopened boxes of shoes in my closet.
Then there are the brown and black dress loafers, black and brown wing tips, dress boots, multiple pair of tennis shoes in various states of deterioration, multiple pairs of casual shoes, and a couple of pairs of Merrell hiking shoes/boots.
I might have more pair of shoes in my closet than my wife does. She is not a shoe person.

Exactly. It's not unheard of for me to buy ALL the pairs they have in my size if I find one I like.

Toe shoes?
Or toe shoes?
One of those would kill me, the other would just kill my feet. I'm too fat for either.
Well, I've got my chucks (daily winter wear), my Tevas (daily summer wear), a pair of dress shoes (which I basically never wear) a pair of boots (ditto). Oh, and a pair of expensive Italian shoes:
Lost count but I have a bunch of shoes.
I could never have too many pairs of shoes, hats, or jackets/coats. Beyond that, I don't care too much about my attire. :D
I like to think of shoes as having the right tool for the job. Lace-up work boots, dad's old pull-on boots, motorcycle boots, casual everyday leather boots. Dress shoes, running shoes, casual shoes, retired running shoes. Dance shoes (used to salsa a few times a week, don't hate), and 10 year old sandals for taking the trash out to the curb.
Black dress shoes, brown loafers, a pair of maroon vans, a pair of flip flops, and a pair of leather shoes for working in the garage.
