At Red Robin I mix a blob of ketchup with the seasoned salt into a healthy sludge.
My favorite fast food fries are either Nathan's or White Castle but if I have a choice I prefer a good steak fry. Once in a while I'd go to Katz' Deli for dinner and just get a mound of fries and a Dr Brown's cream soda.

Wendy's in general is very location dependent. Try a new one, the one I used to go to always had crispy fries.

Ketchup on the side, and eat the fries first. I can withstand a lukewarm burger, but fries need to be hot. McDonalds are the most consistent, but Wendys are the best when they are right.

My prefer tasty sauces with my fries. At Mc-Ds, it's hot mustard or sweet and sour. Honey mustard at Wendy's and Burger King. However, Zaxby's Zax sauce is some amazingly delicious stuff that tops all other fry sauces.
Yes. both of those. I think the better question is "Do you eat fries with your ketchup?"
The only red sauce that goes with my fries is hot sauce. Preferably Tapatio...but I'm flexible and will use others in a pinch. And on the side so they stay crispy.

I'd rather have hot fries and leftover main food then eat fries last, have leftovers and taking them home. reheated fries are the devils spawn.
There is a Taco place next to my work that serves up a plate of fries covered in mole and cotija cheese. Definitely need a fork with it but it is my favorite french fry dish.

The problem with fast food joints is that they generally don't serve beer. My favorite fries in the world were from Stubbies, a bar in Gainesville, FL. They were cut and fried fresh, served with dill mayo. RIP, Stubbies. Second favorite were the duck fat fries from Beer Belly, my old neighborhood bar in LA. They were topped with fried duck skin niblits and served with raspberry mustard. Fries and 2 beers were too often my Friday night dinner.
I would definitely be down for some gravy and fries; I have never been in the right geographical area for this delicacy, though. I experienced my first squeaky curds a few years back, and would definitely enjoy some of those plopped on top.

When you get an order of fries at the race track in Aruba they come with peanut sauce. It works.

Crispiness is more important than size. I like fat fries or skinny fries as long as they're crispy. And no mealy insides. Ever.
On the original topic, ketchup should always be on the side. Putting it on top jeopardizes the all-important crispiness.

Always been a plain vanilla kinda guy, food included. Fast food wise, hot McD or Wendys fries and dip in Heinz ketchup, cold fries will not do. Baked steak fries at home in Heinz only.
One mountain tavern had the best Chili fries, well worth the 25 mile drive. Similar drive to the WVa diner for fries w/ sausage gravy. Ice cold beer goes well w/ both of the above.

My wife does the mayo/ketchup mix. I get it but only use a sauce when I'm either at McDs or if they're crappy.
Penn Station fries are the exception. Awesome fries but they need ketchup to be enjoyed correctly. Five guys are the same way unless you get Cajun fries.
Wendy's fries are great if they're hot. Burger king and arbys are the same.
And if Cajun fries or seasoned fries are an option, they must be ordered.
Red Robin's fries are a little inconsistent in quality, but the Campfire Sauce (basically mayo + BBQ) that comes with the onion rings is awesome on the fries.
