They did a pretty terrible job rigging that car for the lift. The sling slipped from over the back bumper into the rear wheel wells.

Yeah. We're not all too bright sometimes. Not the brightest bulbs in the box, so to speak. Not the, uh, sharpest tools in the shead, as they say. Not the sharpest knives in the drawer, as you can infer. Not the juciest watermelons in the store, as is commonly said. Not the roundest funnel cakes at the carnival. Not the sharpest throwing stars at the Ninja convention, as they say in Japan. We're not the, um, sharpest staples in the stapler.

I'm done.

Meaning that, as usual, the North got it dead wrong.

The first time I ever saw or heard of Scrapple was visiting my aunt in Virginia.

Better question for you GlennS: wtf ISN'T scrapple?

My dad buys it a lot and we just cook it after coming home from the store for some reason. (I'm from PA and I've had scrapple!) I love it. He worked at Giant for 30 years in their meat department. He knows what's in scrapple. He tells me not to ask. I don't think about it. I just eat it.

You really don't want to know. But since you asked:

*Scrapple is a savory mush of pork scraps and trimmings combined with cornmeal and flour, often buckwheat flour. The mush is formed into a loaf, and slices of the scrapple are then fried before serving. Scraps of meat left over from butchering, too small to be used or sold elsewhere, were made into scrapple to avoid waste. Scrapple is best known as a regional food of Delaware, South Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. *

There's a saying: you shouldn't see laws or sauasges being made. To which I will add scrapple.

This is how this post played out.

  1. Girl drives car into pool.

  2. REPOST!

  3. Pennsylvanians are dumb.

  4. SCRAPPLE!!!!!

A logical progression, I think.

I've been thinking this thread could be nominated for some sort of "topic creep" list.

Yes...parking a miata at the bottom of a swimming pool and fried pork/dough...perfectly reasonable to be expected in the same thread. I LOVE this place!

I think he means "savory" as being the alternative to "sweet".
