So, I just came across this while doing the "project" search on CL. I think he's going to have to pay someone else to take it away...

Did he just take an RV and raise the roof so it's higher than the legal DOT limit?

Awesome!  indecision

I don't even think it's an RV. I think it's a camping trailer with the roof raised and some glass put in one end. And, well, that's it.

What's the difference between an RV and a camping trailer?

I thought an RV was self-propelled.

I’ve always considered any camper an RV. Self propelled ones are motor homes.

That's a motor home.

Most tax assessors would call all campers, motorhomes, pop ups, etc "RV's".

But since "RV" means recreational vehicle, it sometimes also includes boats, off road buggies, etc.

Ebay calls Class A, B, C, and all towables RVs.

Gotcha. Apparently I was wrong!

To me, an RV is a self-propelled house - although if it's one of the big ones, I usually call it a Rock Star Bus. If it needs a truck to move around, it's a trailer. That seems to be the terminology around here. But I've never read any regulations on the subject, so that means nothing.

If it's simply a vehicle that is used for recreational purposes, then I think my track Miata is an RV devil
