Anyone have a plasma cutter here? I love to tinker around with stuff, some times weld up something for the house, etc. I am looking into getting a plasma cutter that will work well in my work shop and be mobile capable. I don't need anything industrial, as like i said, I'm just a hobbiest and want something that I can mess around with and work with in my home shop. I have checked out a couple of local shops and decided to go online for better pricing.

I found a couple of companies, but unlike the rest of the companies selling plasma cutters and welders out there, Longevity seems to have a great warranty, and the best all around pricing. Is there anyone here that will vouch for LONGEVITY? I'm almost ready to pull the trigger but would love some feed back on product support. and what would be the difference between a pilot arc plasma cutter and a regular plasma cutter? Im sure out of 500,000 hobbiests on this forum, someone should be able to answer some of my questions.

Here is their website: http://www.longevity-inc.com/

Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

well just an updated i looked more and more into different companies and found Longevity had a great plasma cutter that was in my pricing range with great warranty as well. I went ahead and purchased it towards the end of June. Ive used it a few times and i am very satisfied with my decision. My sales guy who sold it to me even gave me a call to see how its working for me. Very impressed,

Here's the plasma cutter I purchased: http://www.longevity-inc.com/forcecut-62i

There's a few threads on in the Shop & Tools section of Pirate 4x4 about them. A handful of folks have no issues, several have gone through a few machines during the warranty, and others moved on to other manufacturers after post warranty failures.

Hopefully you've got one of the good ones, anecdotal evidence seems they're pretty hit or miss.

Hypertherm will get my money when the time comes.

Sorry, no experience with Longevity, but I do have a plasma. It is a Miller 625 x-treme. Very happy with it.

Glad you are happy with your choice.

Happy Cutting

I got an agro 50A Miller cheap because they don't sell tips for it anymore. Found the tips on Ebay....

This thing will cut 3/8" steel like butter.

Cutting the Volvo floor boards out I discovered the plasma has a long reach, (be careful what's on the other side of what you are cutting!)(and don't cut sheetmetal on high)
