MarketWatch Investing Game anyone?

I don't get the new game. It's a 10k game but yet I can spend 20k?

I'm going a different route this time. Low maintenance. All high-cap Vanguard index funds.

Buying on credit. Maybe I should kill that option.

Hmm - looks like I can't. So, $10k real fake money, $10k margin it appears to be.

Uh, this game is the same way. It's a margin account and you can do the same thing with real money.

E36 M3. Wanting to make sure yesterday's run stuck, I threw in a stop at $245, while the stock was at $247. I guess it dropped and triggered the trade (always a risk, and kinda the point), but it executed the trade not at $245 but at $243. Grrr. $2 / share x 11,000 shares = berkeley.

And now it's at $250. $77k. berkeley.

$50k is the limit I see for MOST margin accounts...

My E36 M3 is totally hosed at this point. I rode one of my stocks in a huge way down, then decided to short it, and of berkeleying course it gains in a huge way. All bad. And to think, i was in first for awhile.

I did the same thing. Trying to daytrade my way into the top 10, I got caught in a stock that was dropping. Tried to ride it out but then sold and shorted and it started to recover. I ended up chasing this volatile stock up and down trying to make my money back.

I'm currently berkeleyed by a stock that lost me over $600k on the way down. It's now lost me $1.7million on the way up. The math that results if i had been on the other end each time hurts me deep inside.

Anyways, ya'all in trouble on the $10k game.

So, buying AMBA 2 days ago at $100 may have been a bad call....

Hi guys. I have been following along over the past year off and on. Finally getting off the sidelines to see how much monopoly money I can gain/lose. Well, there goes half the morning.

Just joined the $10k game but no trades yet.

Who is Hoppe and why is he a Bob Costas? LOL

Well, AMBA rebounded a bit, and instead of being $800k down, now I'm only $600k down. Yay....

I like the cheaper game. I played it safe and went with what'd buy in the real world and so far it seems to have paid off. The best part is I can just let this stuff chill. I may not end up on top, but I certainly won't come back after a few months and find myself in the hole $600k.

berkeleying AMBA. Down a cool mil, and on my way from first to worst right at the end of the game.

I am having fun with the new game and trying to dig myself out of the hole with the old one, but I am using the same strategy with both
