This was talked about on something recently - in the 70's, Coors was suffering due to MASSIVE boycotts responding to a bunch of policies that made them widely unpopular with a bunch of groups.
The story about Coors lacking "stabilizers" is a complete lie. Coors is no more subject to shelf spoilage than any other beer. (Unless it was due to metal leaching in their cans.)
