Put me in that camp, too.  I mean, there are many things in the world I don't know about, but I can usually manage to parse some kind of context out of things.

Was it a toy drive? Or helping out at a thanksgiving shelter? MCs need good PR too. The Pagans do a toy drive every Christmas and usually a food drive in the summer around here.
