Jenga but with 3/8" bolts. The unevenly cut end makes it fun.

I'm considering putting some of these cheap plastic ebay "aerodynamic" products on my challenge car.l Even though I know they won't do anything except look silly.

I probably need a vacation.  I stopped at the grocery on my way home and a county bus was sitting out front, flashers on, with the operator on the phone. Out of habit I asked if she was ok as she told me there was a loose ceiling panel in the bus. I climbed up on a seat with my panel key and relatched it.  As I asked how late she was to put her back in place I realized she’s not my driver, it’s not my bus, and I’m 80 miles from NYC.

So, I will neither confirm nor deny that I got all 4 wheels of the V60 off the ground far enough to let the revs jump and make it pretension the seatbelts for a moment.

I will confirm that it took it with grace and stability.

I am still going to look at used Prius'/Prii? this weekend, it sucks but the financial side makes it easier to stomach. $350/m vs $700ish, Also why am I looking at RPF1's for a prius...

Sometimes I get bored while mowing the yard, so I'll do a decreasing radius spiral until I either lift a tire or slide off the seat.

I've done this with a medium-size tractor also.

My yard may be too big.

I’m considering the same, although my car payment is lower.  Love my WRX, but I have concerns about my job stability, plus if I have to start commuting again, I want an automatic transmission.  Seems like a regular Prius or a Prius V covers a whole lot of use cases.  At the very least, I’m going to stop paying it down faster than I have to, and start banking the extra cash, just in case.

In the thirteen years I've been wrenching on my cars I've never been to a u pull it yard.  I'm planning on going to one this weekend (hopefully) but don't really know how any of it works.

I do read the trd rear swaybar and real tires help the gen 3's massively handling wise. Also there is a front bar, cusco makes all the chassis bracing and you can get trd lowering springs for the prius as well...

The scope creep and ADD with my C1500 and my Trans Am is real. I've decided one of these two is getting a turbo 4.8/4l80e combo but I can't decide which one. I'm leaning towards the truck because I don't fit in the GTA with a helmet and it's easier to build an axle for a leaf spring truck than for a torque arm car.

This is an itch I've had for a few years now that must be scratched.

Don't worry though I'm not taking the truck apart until Humphrey is a driver.

Confession:  I know you as a driver of a POS Corsica (okay, it was rad as berk, but it was still a Corsica) and a Neon.  I cannot correlate you with driving a WRX, even intellectually.

Semi-related confession:  I didn't completely mind the fact that circumstances due to shiny happy people had me unable to make the previous rallycross with my RX-7, because of the twin goals of wanting to drive route 751(?) and 168(?) and the hill on Upper Twin Road and Bitzer's driveway with teh R, and wanting to show off to my rallycross friends that I don't just drive PsOS, I have a nice car too.

Related to that confession:  I feel a little bad about launching down Bitzer's driveway right before Bill was trying to leave.  But come on, I had stupid amounts of Scandinavian power, and all wheel drive, and a hilly curvy gravel road in front of me, how could I not launch it.

Related to that confession:  The S40's ABS worked waaaaaay better than the S60R's.  I know I hit 60 once or twice on the driveway in the S40 but 50 was scary in the S60R due to all that mass and the ABS had no idea what to do on gravel, at all.  The S40 handled gravel or dirt like a boss.  (Sub-confession:  Don't tell Scott that I was going that fast on his driveway)

I guess the only daily driver of mine you would have regularly seen would have been the Highlander when Lori drove it to events as a support vehicle.

My confession - I've been through way too many cars, and lost way too much selling them at 1 or 2 years old.  Sure, I can afford it as long as I keep to a budget, but I really should just get a boring, reliable daily, and bank the savings so the fun project cars can get even wilder.

Edit:  Additional related confession - My ratty 223K+ mile 1996 Miata is way more fun to drive on short trips around town than the 1 year old WRX.  If I could get the AC to work consistently, I'd drive it even more.

I miss the FC convertible. Honestly in terms of driving enjoyment it was probably the most fun vehicle I've owned. Don't get me wrong- the DMC gets more smiles-per-mile but that's mostly from people's reactions to it, at least in its current form it's not nearly as much fun to- nor was it built to- sling around on the road like the FC3C was. The turbo Rampage was a hoot when I could actually get on the engine and spooled the turbo up, but the FC's 13B just plain screamed regardless and was almost more fun to push up to redline before shifting (at least some of that is due to its 5-speed vs. the Rampage's auto).

I really should have tried to get rid of the already-languishing El Camino project and kept the FC when I needed to thin the herd...

In reply to Ashyukun (Robert) :

I think just having a small, relatively agile convertible is nice.  The WRX will outhandle the Miata, now that I got rid of the summer tires (which were going to eventually get me in trouble), but there’s something relaxing about running around with the Miata, even on crappy (but much more comfortable) tires.  Admittedly, the WRX is more fun when I have a clear straight road ahead of me, but 0 mph - reckless driving ticket comes up pretty fast.  WRX is also hands down a better highway cruiser, so I couldn’t just get rid of it and not replace it with something else.

Knowing that it wouldn't be much fun to be stuck behind my B.U.T.T., I was purposefully slow-rolling it when I saw you heading that way so you could get out in front.  But what you should need to confess is that you didn't give anyone warning so I didn't have a chance to get my windows rolled down in time so I missed the auditory experience!  Engine noises FTW!

I saw an Escort wagon for sale and thought about getting it and bringing it the Challenge as Humphrey's stunt double but then remembered that means buying a 5th useless car. I already can't afford the 4 I have.

That's the second time someone said it sounds good.  I have no idea from inside the car, it is really well insulated in there.

I should have someone else drive the car so I can hear it for myself...

Related: I found a 4 cylinder manual Mercury Mystique for sale 3 states away for $400 with a bad 2nd gear synchro and thought, "This would be the perfect dirt track car."

I found a few locally around Glasgow, Kentucky in the $5-700 range. A few more over a grand. Only 1 of them wasn't an automatic from what I remember.

Yeah, that sounds about right. I can't decide if I want a manual one, or if it doesn't matter because I'd want to do a total drivetrain swap on it anyway.

I need to find some garage I can rent if I buy more cars though.

Maybe my confession is I always find a reason to spool up the turbo on the rampage when I'm driving it.....

I honestly was just going to take it go the challenge in place of my Caprice wagon once as a joke then probably sell it off again. I know me though and I never am good at quickly selling cars so it would sit around forever.
