Well, the post office surprised me. I sent the complaint in at around 9 am. They have already contacted me to verify the tracking data so they can speak to the employee who dropped the box at the door. Carriers are not allowed to drop packages at closed businesses. So, they apparently have at least one competent employee.
Here's a PDF of the USPS complaint process from the GAO. https://www.gao.gov/assets/720/714529.pdf
If they are actually interested in tracking their complaints, then we need to get busy filing them. Maybe with enough prodding, they can fire some of the dead weight and improve.

No need to sugar coat it. You can tell us how you really feel.

That doesn't even work in the corporate world, let alone in an industry with a strong union.

You're right, but a man can be hopeful.
We must have lucked out, because the local mailman to us is top notch. He seems to give a E36 M3. Probably the exception to the norm it seems.
In reply to Appleseed :
The carrier at my house is decent, but the guy for my office is completely useless. When I was mailing checks to suppliers, I would have to take them to the post office to make sure they were actually mailed. If I stuck them in the outgoing slot for our complex, there was a 40% chance they would never arrive.
Our complex has what we call second delivery. The mailman would arbitrarily put the mail in the boxes. Any mail, any box. It didn't matter how it was addressed. Even after we all labeled the inside of the boxes to try and help to keep the confusion to a minimum. Every day, you would have to go through your mail and then redeliver everything that was in the wrong box. This isn't an occasional problem. It's a constant problem and the sign of someone who just doesn't give a damn about the job they are paid to do and should be fired.

Yeah, our home delivery is mostly OK. But the work mail comes to one of those multi-address pedestal boxes, and it's a nightmare in both directions.

Probably doesn't help that her mother (who is no peach) was on her case since she was a little girl
Oh I guarantee 100% that is definitely part of the problem. Good for you for noticing it. If you have daughters, be on guard for that cycle perpetuating itself. My dad was awesome in many respects -- he saw us as people first and not "just girls" -- but man he was NOT clued into the mother-daughter dynamic at all. If he'd said "hey would you lay off about that" or pulled me and my sister aside and said "take Mom with a grain of salt" it would have meant the world to us.
My neck is tight and my left eye has started twitching. Yay stress!

says this, proceeds to not show up without any communication

I get it. Women have body image issues.
Why is it, that the woman I've been with since we were teenagers, who I'm still crazy about. Still thinks that I'm an idiot because I still like seeing her naked?
Women worry that men are going to leave them for a younger woman but they get annoyed with the man who doesn't want to leave them for wanting to see her without any clothes on?
If you figure this out, let me know- I could use knowing too.
Rant 1: I hate being sick... I was pretty much out of it for the entire weekend and am still coughing pretty bad. I got next to nothing I wanted to done over the weekend, but at least I'm in good enough shape to sit at my computer and work today so I don't have to burn any personal time (it sucks no longer having separate sick days...) because of it. Sub-rant: How is it that despite being sick I'm still the one who ends up having to go out and pick up our food?
Rant 2: We're trying to arrange everything for our 10th Anniversary vacation trip, and since my SIL & nephew are coming along (and obviously staying in their own room) getting all of the flights arranged is several times more complicated. I'm glad we have a AAA travel agent arranging everything- having to do all of this on our own would be a considerable pain.
Very minor rant 3: One of the guys that was just transferred onto the work project I've been on for a bit is very clearly (based on name & accent) German. I spent about 1/4 of my childhood in Germany as an Army Brat- and it's really hard to not slip into what I remember of German when talking to him. The problem is that I know I remember far less of it than I should and am pretty certain that I'd be completely out of my depth were I to try. I mean, when I was last there (about 15 years ago when I went with friends and drove the Ring) I hadn't been on the ground for an hour before I made myself look like a complete idiot when after ordering at one of the airport restaurants I had to ask the cashier to repeat something in English for me that turned out to be 'Would you like that for here or to go?' which was pretty simple.

You know how you get better at speaking German?

There is scientific evidence to suggest that language learning works better when inebriated.
Im Himmel, gibst kein Bier...
My miata has been broken and parked since june. Mice have gotten in it big time.
This just turned to suck.
If you borrow my truck for the weekend and it's on F when you pick it up Friday, shouldn't it be on F when it's returned Monday? There will be no next time for you.
In reply to Steve_Jones :
Hell even if it was on E, giving it back with more than you got it with is just politeness.

I guess I'm not going to complain about the feral cat that uses the top of my Miata as a hammock.

I agree. I've always had the mindset of returning any borrowed vehicle full even if it was on E when I got it. I usually lend them out on F so no one spends more than they used, I figured that's polite on my end. For reference this is a 48 gallon diesel tank, and it's below 1/2. It's not the $$, it's the lack of doing the right thing.
On my last day of on call, just before my vacation officially starts, I got woken up by an alert at 11:58 PM. Logged in, and had no freaking idea how to handle it, or if it was really that severe. Not that it matters, it was on a server I don't have access to. Stayed up to make sure it didn't repeat itself, then sent a message about it to the team, went to bed, and couldn't fall back asleep.
Great way to start my time off.

This sales rep keeps telling me that this presentation from a vendor is showing a cost of two cents per each. My afternoon project is to find a way to explain to this guy that $0.099 is not just under two cents but a tenth of a penny less than a dime without using the words "moron", "dipE36 M3", "dumbass", "idiot", or "E36 M3 for brains".
I am having a serious case of writer's block.
