It is too cold to weld. My MIG isn't feeding properly, and I think it is because the liner is too inflexible. If I hold the gun straight out from the box, it feeds just fine, but if I try to actually weld on the workpiece, it binds up.
And then my hands went numb.
I figured that this was a sign that I should go home and get under a thick fuzzy blanket and watch videos on YouTube instead of getting stuff done.
First the clutch in the miata goes. Then the elky got totalled. Now the flu.
What. The. berkeley.
Oh well. Ordered parts for a truck i don't own yet.
Black backgrounds on a website. I am sorry, but white or light text on a black or very dark background screws up my eyes something awful. It literally takes me several moments to get them to work properly again when focusing something not written in white on black.

I actually prefer a dark background, it's other colored backgrounds that mess my eyes up...yellow or blue backgrounds, etc.
My rant: Met a girl on the weekend at a motorsport function. Nice girl, had a nice conversation with her, but physically about as far from my type as possible while still being female. We exchanged numbers and then...
As I feared, she started messaging me about 4 times per day with idle chitchat (often laced with overly_attached_girlfriend.jpg overtones), and just now she has asked me out, to some activities I'm not really a fan of. I don't want to be a jerk. To both gently avoid getting her hopes up and to give her a taste of what she'd be dealing with, I told her I'd have to check with my mechanics first since both cars need work and one is urgent, which is true, so I've bought myself some time. Now what's a nice way to say "You're a nice person and all, but you're a little creepy and your body kills my boner. And you know it's just mine. Plenty of guys out there would think you're hot, especially in this country. In fact my boner is unlike most boners around here" - well that's getting long but you get the picture.
First time a woman's shown interest in me in ages and this happens...
Update: Last night she sent the creepiest message: "Sleep sweet [GameboyRMH]."
This isn't even the first "goodnight" message. I'm kind of afraid to reply any further now.
Forgot my damn wallet at home this morning, which never happens. Last thing before I walk out the door is always tap the pockets - keys, phone, wallet, check - must have skipped it this morning focusing on the crappy weather instead. So consequently I wasn't able to make my usual stop at the gas station for coffee this morning and now I'm grumpy 
Got a speeding ticket. Sonuva.....
“Two day business shipping” my ass...
Its interesting to see how snow makes people forget how a road is laid out.
So it's snowing here in SE MI- could get a few inches. Which is hardly new- we are in Michigan, for crying out loud. It's supposed to snow.
More than once, you see drivers totally forget what the road layout is. Two that really I thought were funny- one of my close roads is two lanes with a turning lane- and a driver decided that they needed to turn left from the main lane instead of the middle. What the heck was that?
Then, on a different road- there's an area where the road forks to enter the westbound freeway, or you stay in the normal right lane to cross the bridge to the eastbound entrance. This driver in front of me decided to follow a truck to the westbound entrance, but then go over the bridge. Huh?
It's early enough in the morning that it's not even close to the first time these drivers drove these roads. How could you not remember how the road is laid out??? It's not as if there were any lanes at all in the road (which you see that effect a lot on the freeway). This was just not remembering the road.
It's as if the snow takes half of your normal driving brain and makes it a panic zone.

My overly controlling, using, and bitchy sister is breaking up with her long term boyfriend. She has two daughters, I have house I live in by myself. This is not going to end well. I think I either need a bigger boat or one of those sunraders

Then I asked my wife what form of arrangement she had with the dentist!!
Yesterday was SWMBO's birthday, and I somehow managed to at least slightly bungle almost every aspect of it. Not enough to ruin it by any stretch, but enough that I felt bad for things not going as perfectly as I'd hoped.

Nope. Rental expedition. So different from what I am used to that i didn't even notice the speed i was doing was 20mph more than i thought.

Funny, my tempermental, moody, manipulative sister is also planning to break up with her long-term boyfriend (who is a genuinely nice guy) whom she has a son and daughter with. She tried to get me to get an apartment with her. In the words of my father "What 26 year old guy wants an apartment with his sister and her 2 kids? Is she out of her mind?" This has turned into an arrangement where my father is holding me hostage from moving out of the house until she figures out what she's doing, because he knows that if I move out then my mother would try and move her in because there was room. In return, he hasn't mentioned my sister wanting to get an apartment with her to my mother, who would likely force me to do so because "family"

More ranting: This week my phone has decided it no longer wants to send or receive texts from SWMBO and my work computer has all of a sudden started running like E36 M3.

It's not that bad yet. The first thing I can try will be blocking her number.
Another update: She's changed her WhatsApp picture to a pic I took of her next to a rally car on the night we met. The picture came out terribly since it was night time and some of the graphics on the car were made of retroreflective material.
Already heard someone say "Valentime's Day".
