So, i forgot the subascrew existed since the medical stuff started. Realized that the owners come back in two weekes for their annual holiday stateside.

At least it cranked!

But somehow, moisture got in (been parked under a carport in the dry, so i dunno) and the entire interior is slightly musty/growing.

Nice.

So i get to pujll the interior from a car that isn't mine, scrub the E36 M3 outta it, put it back together, and make sure its good to go.

By the 29th.

We leave for out of town Christmas on the 21st, and this weekend is booked solid.

Merry berkeleying Christmas to me!

How come I can buy a 12-1/2" little kids bicycle on Ebay for $58, but I can't buy a set of wheels for the same sized bike for less than $83??

I'm building a bicycle for my four-year-old for Christmas, and I'd like to use new wheels...But $83!?!?!?

So, the other night I may or may not have partaken in what is technically an illegal activity. If I did, it was the first time in... years? Maybe? And for the first time in over a month, I slept through the night that night. My boss even noticed that I'm much more attentive today, I'm more efficient. Basically asked if I'm getting "better" (in an appropriate way). I just told him there are good days and bad days.

I'd like to partake in said activity, that I may or may not have partaken in, on a somewhat regular schedule for now. But it isn't legal here. It will likely be a legal activity in Illinois in a few years. It is legal medicinally--but you basically have to be dying of cancer, ALS, typhoid, obesity and anorexia all at once to get a script for it here. At least as far as I've found. Tell me again why? What are the downsides to this? Why was it made illegal in the first place? Oh, but I can go and down a fifth of Jim Beam if I want to.

I'm not up on Illinois law currently, but I feel like if you went to a licenced physician and explained what has gone on in the past 6 weeks, they'd most likely hand you a prescription.

While my experience with those doctors is limited to two states with very different approaches to the issue, you'd qualify in both of them under the PTSD umbrella.

I have to go in to my PCP to get approval for an Echocardiogram and an EKG, I'll ask at the same time. We'll see. I've heard second hand that it is extremely difficult in Illinois, but that info is probably 4 years old or so.

This is why when I build vintage bikes as riders I buy gently used modern stuff for wheelsets. It's cheaper then buying wheels alone, let alone wheels, tires and tubes.

If you're looking to delegate a thing so you aren't tasked to do everything, and I tell you that I will take care of said thing, just let me do it.... I understand you are the authority and I respect that, but could you be a little easier to work with at least and let me actually DO things? The constant, "You're in charge of this now, but you can't do anything of substance without talking to me and making sure I agree with you" is very tiring. Many days I feel like stepping back and moving on or taking a very background position.

You can A) ask me to do something, or B) tell me to do something and how you want it done.

Not both.

The Manic Miata gets that way over the winters when it sits unopened for a long time. It is usually just a haze of fine green dots, kind of evenly distributed over the interior.

Wipe it down with window cleaner on a rag.  It should go away and not come back once the car is in regular use.  I don't think you need to remove the entire interior unless it is radically worse than that.

Put a new in the box harbor freight generator for sale on a local facebook sale group for 75-80% of the usual sale price. That's the 7kw one that usually sale prices at $520-ish for $400. I think I had a whamodyne coupon and did a little better than that sale price when I bought it,  but it's still a deal on a brand new Generator.

Guy offers me $350 right away.

I stick to my price but offer to meet him 45 minutes from my house and 4 from his, not quite free home delivery but close.

Nope,  he's not going to pay a penny over $350.

There are 38 generators in the local area of Facebook marketplace:

-8 are less than $350, and the biggest of those is 4kw.

-10 are similarly sized and the cheapest of them is $400 and obviously well used.

I think I have priced the unit exactly right to be the best value available right now in that market.  I honestly can't figure out where this guys offer came from and why he's so stuck on it.  It's infuriating.

I'm not up on the current laws as I'm not interested in having a card, but personally know 2 people who have the medical card. Neither has any legitimate reason for one, other than they wanted to have one. They are both eager to admit that as well.

(I don't have any problem with that, even though when I just reread those sentences, it sounded like I do, even to me. Trust me, I don't!)

That being said, I think you would be able to get one fairly easily, after all, everything in our great state revolves around money, and I'm sure there has to be some sort of fee to the state involved. There are "doctors" that advertise on the radio around here that will help you get your card.

If it helps you, I am all for it. yes

EDIT: I just thought of a third person with a card. (A friend's ~80 year old dad) He has Parkinson's and says it helps him quite a bit.

We call him Grandpa Ganja now.

Haven't heard any of those advertisements around here, but when I get home I'll do a google search and try to figure it out. My uncle had one, but he had stage 4 pancreatic cancer and it was the only thing that kept the nausea down AND didn't kill his appetite (it actually helped it!). Funny enough, my cousin and two of my other uncles (ages 57 and 69) partake as well--but they all live or at least have residencies in Michigan. I personally have no trouble getting it, I'd just rather stay on the legal side of things (I know, federal blah blah blah)

I may or may not have tried it at the encouragement of a friend who suggested it. It worked to get me to sleep soundly, and with no ill effects. Z-Quill didn't. Melatonin didn't. Wearing myself out didn't. This did, if I did indeed try it.

If I catch the name of the doc/clinic, whatever, I'll pass it along.

Huh.  I haven't had a good nights sleep for years.  I did sleep all the way through two nights ago and felt great in the morning, but I do not recommend how I got there.  It involves getting some kind of thermonuclear cold and an inability to shiver, leading to basically no useful sleep at all for several days.

Cool. Its mostly dime sized green dots. Couple of worse spots, maybe dollar bill sized on passengers side seats.

Will just wipe down. Car gets used one month a year, and sits except for me running it around for a weekend a month on average. Im hoping that they decide this year its cheaper to rent a car for a month than to have one sitting here.....

Things may get a bit easier with the recent Farm Bill basically decoupling hemp from its THC-heavy relative so it's no longer counted as a Schedule-1 drub, so products derived from it (including CBD-based ones, since I believe it's higher in hemp) should get much easier to come by...

To be honest, I really don't think that I'll be interested in using 2 years from now. Maybe some recreationally, but right now I want it as a sleep aid. That is it. I DON'T want to be using it medicinally for more than a few months, or weeks even.

People are obsessed with the deal more than the thing they are buying. Its about priorities really.

I sold a 3 axle 20ft car trailer on facebook marketplace. I hate trailers and dont want to use them, plus i dont own anything that would tow this monster. I got it years ago because i wanted the concrete forms that were on it, i didnt want the trailer but was told the trailer came with it cause he wanted it gone, he even offered to pull it to my house 2 hours away. The forms were worth the asking price so i was happy either way.

8 years it sat as a platform for stacking the panels until i decided to sell it. I looked at prices in the area and put it up for a good price $2500. I instantly got offers of $500 "because thats what 3 axle trailers are worth no one wants to have to replace all those tires" and other bullE36 M3 offers. I get a guy that loves it, rushes out to look at it and is literally drooling over it. He offers $2000, i tell him no....$2500 is a good price. He says he cant possibly put more money on it because of "all them tires" his wife looks at him dumbfounded and as they are driving off i can see shes telling him hes an idiot. He then messages me 4 more times in 3 days asking if the trailer is sold but cant go over $2k

Next guy walks up, doesnt haggle and sees the deal hes getting. First guy is quite butthurt that it sold.

$2500 for a 15k trailer with a good deck, all axles with brakes and tires that held air for 8 years and look not worn is a good deal, but damned if people dont want a spectacular deal and will sabotage themselves to get it
