I'm wishing I didn't read this...

But in brighter news, I was able to score an '04 5.3 from a guy for $200 delivered and that includes the intake and flywheel. Both junkyards near me charge roughly $200 not including the intake, flywheel, balancer, etc. Definitely a win in my book. Even if it ends up being a 4.8. Saving me the trouble of renting a Uhaul truck for $100 and spending hours at the junkyard.

I have found both of my missing external hdds this week. I have my Good Eats collection back now. But I also found a cache of ECW pay per views I forgot I had.

Been anxious and sweatin gettin Janky approved by government to continue another year of road supremacy. Mainly the emissions test.

Janky is a 99 escort zx2, 229k miles and looks it! Somehow , some way , she passed!!

Was funny at first watching the guy trying to remember how to drive a manual, but then it hurt when had took off at about 3000 rpm riding the clutch for seconds...

Tonight's city council meeting was one of the most sedate in months. I'm not sure what kind of "come to Jesus" group therapy session happened between last week's P&Z E36 M3show and tonight, but something sure changed. Looks like my tactics to throw cold water on the crazies is working.

Had a guy bring in a 2010 Chevy Express 3500 that he'd been chasing a P0174 Fuel Trim System Lean - Bank 2 and a P291B Fuel Trim Imbalance - Bank 2 for the past month. He'd already thrown both post-catalyst 02 sensors in, a MAF sensor and intake manifold gaskets, to no avail, before bringing it in. I look it over, can't find any smoking guns, and start thinking he has an injector problem, so we order 4 injectors for it. It comes in today to install those, and as I'm trying to figure out how to get the fuel rail off the engine, I happen to look down through the hole where the doghouse was and see the Bank 2 Sensor 1 02 sensor sitting very crooked in the pipe. Reach down and grab it and it falls right out. Well, that'd cause a lean code. Look at the threads on the 02 sensor and they are destroyed, terrific, means the threads in the exhaust are probably trashed too. Nope, grab one of the old 02 sensors he still had in the cab and it threads right into the pipe. Oooookay then, not going to try and understand that one, or how this thing didn't have a serious exhaust noise.

Bought some Konig Wheels for the FR-S. Still have decent rubber on them and what appears to be the TPMS still on them. $400. Also, they came from Jeff Schwartz,  of Schwartz Performance. Yes, THAT Jeff Schwartz.

Our adult Corgi started playing with the 9 week old puppy this morning. On his own. It didn't even end in bloodshed or someone getting yelled at. This is a huge step.

Finally took the time to organize my car stuff instead of being haphazardly around the house. Large bins to hold my turbo and other misc pieces.

Found a reseller who has almost every NOS part for my Nissan which is amazing as I've been looking for some of this stuff for YEARS as I've owned a few of them. Misc trim clips for things such as the sideskirts, door welts, belt moulding for the windows, interior trim pieces, switches, even the combo lever for my gas/trunk lid. It's been tough watching my money float away but I know this will be my only opportunity to grab some of these parts. I've basically cleared him out of what I need.

Found 60 cash I thought I lost after a drunken night at the saddlerack I pulled from the atm a few weeks ago

Supervisor recently got approved for another spec 2 position and it's been posted.

Lady who left the team told me I should apply to it, like she's told me to do for every position now.

Another spec 2 yesterday told me to apply to it or at least talk to the supervisor about it.

Mentioned it to the lady and she tells me the supervisor got that position created for me and want me to apply.

It's supposedly a 20% increase, give or take which would be ok.

But the amount of work and how busy I see all the other spec 2s get, doesn't really correlate to the pay raise. Like, working all day, go home, work some more at night, and then work on the weekends. I'm fairly certain I can tell them to piss off with that and I'm not sure why anyone puts up with it.

Wise man! Respect that life balance. If you are poor, can't make the bills and your family is hurting from it, money is (close to) everything. But if you are not, it isn't!

For the second time in 6 weeks, I've had an offer accepted on a house. I have a much better buyers agent this time. I guess it's in the hands of Wells appraiser now.

I just hopped on this train. Almost immediately, it's running express half way to my stop. Then at that stop, it's going to run express almost all the way to my stop. I'm almost certain this is the absolute fastest way out of town. Feels like a record. Downtown to home in three stops instead of eleven.

I'm guessing the BNSF line? I never got on a non-express train on the UP-W line if I could help it.

It was nice. "Attention passengers. This train is running express to Pulaski. There are two trains immediately behind this one making every stop." I mean, people were groaning and getting off, but for me, it was nice.

2-day juice 'cleanse' the Dancer wanted to do is now over and I can eat real food again and drink a real (caffeinated) cup of tea again. Sucks that the place nearby that makes a breakfast dish with DELICIOUS waffles doesn't open until lunchtime, but the bacon I had for actual breakfast was some of the tastiest ever.

As an unexpected bonus, this morning was my performance review and as usual did fine and will get the usual barely-keeping-up-with-inflation raise... but learned that I also will be getting a small bonus this year that should at least cover the cost of the beater I'm trying to find AND if I get a cheap enough one also cover the parts I need to get for the QX4.

Sometimes you just have to bring it home with you:

Though there is probably some rule being broken by putting a 150hp inline-8 in the back of a pickup with a 300hp inline-4.....

Finally got the lower mileage replacement 3uzfe into Mr Belvedere (my UL LS430) and it runs and sounds healthy. Didn't get to drive it much yet but it's not bleeding coolant and oil like the overheated one I pulled out of there.

Got to spend the weekend with my cousin and his wife who live 3 hours and some change south of me. Picked up a pair of almost new Borla ProXS mufflers for $50 on the way there. And some jy parts to flip that should translate to me getting paid to go hang out with my favorite relatives and eat sushi, ramen and cake.

Back from our long weekend/micro-vacation and today we're doing the most important part of ANY trip.

NOT WORKING

That's right, Tiger Mom and I took Monday off as well.  It's raining out and I feel no particular need to accomplish much of anything.   We might Netflix and whatnot here in a bit.
