Not that I want you to share this with your new friend, but here in Texas the equivalent phrase goes something like this "looks like Mr, Cranky Business is in town..." late....
my brain is now berkleyed, but this should really be in the minor rant thread
Jesus Christ, I'm dense. I finally got it.
I'm stealing that Wally. Thank you.
This was just about a month ago; group text between 3 of us who work the same abusive side gig talking about if it's worth it traveling 6 hours to make ~$700 after expenses

I was ready to buy another used dryer when mine started sounding like a dying freight train. Either belt or bearing, or both. Bought it used for like $125 and got my $ out of it, tried repairing one years ago & not interested in it again.
Friend's brother just moved and bought a matching set of new appliances, and told my friend I could have the old dryer if I picked it up out of his basement. I said cool, how much $? He said free, dummy.
$40 Uhaul truck 2 miles from me, 7 mile trip to the house, hour later I have a (pretty nice) dryer again. I think it's a sign of adulthood when you're excited about a dryer, with all the cool bells and whistles. It actually works & blankets don't take all day, or wad up like a big football.

It was berking delicious with some warm crusty bread.
Had leftovers for lunch yesterday, and it was even better.

It caught me off guard too, she comes off as very proper. The conversation devolved into countless puns and generally gross comments back and forth.
She was feeling you out Wally, testing the waters.
I was able to schedule an appointment for the first shot of the Pfizer vaccine through my local VA hospital for tomorrow. Since I've had covid, I wonder how severe the side effects will be? The second dose is scheduled for April 2nd.
In reply to stanger_mussle (Forum Supporter) :
My second dose wasn't as bad as I expected. I woke up with chills in the middle of the night but they only lasted about an hour or so. My arm wasn't even that sore.
First dose pre Covid of Moderna, no noticable effects.
Second dose Post Covid, 103 fever for 18 hrs and just felt garbage time for 2 days.
My dead Cayman battery was still under warranty. $0.
Finally closed our refinance that had been going on since late summer. Knocked 7.5 years off the mortgage for a $20/month increase.
In reply to Wally (Forum Supporter) and nocones :
Thanks guys. I've heard that if you had covid and got the Pfizer vaccine that the side effects are mild. I've also heard that its terrible. And that your arm will fall off. There seems to be no consistent answer to how bad it will be.
I guess I'll see what happens tomorrow since I have to go to work after getting stuck.
The truck has driven four miles with the 4l80e swap!!!!!
In reply to stanger_mussle (Forum Supporter) :
Our highly unscientific office survey shows the second Moderna does often caused a stronger reaction but neither particularly bad.

She may be trying to kill me. Convinced me to go to her yoga, My 350 lb ass is in no shape to yoga and the other women complained she made the class harder than normal. I may not be her type after all but I'm going to have an interesting death.

Dude, seriously a yoga instructor?! You’re going to be just fine I think.
Insurance company got back to me today about my roof. They're gonna write me a check for over $26k to replace the entire roof. With the agreement that they'd pay more for anything uncovered during the rebuilding process. Woot!
